When did DPC get shut down? - DPChallenge Forums

Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D

OK, who hacked DPC and replaced it with this? I'm not sure when it happened, but DPC got replaced with a dull, mean place, which has become about as much fun as your best friends funeral.

Anyway, I hope it's just a cycle or something. Or maybe it's just me.

Well, I for one have been busy with school, but I'm in Still with a decidedly not lifeless and desaturated entry.

But I agree, the community as a whole seems to have turned a shade darker than it was when I joined almost exactly a year ago. I can't imagine anyone back then making some of the snarky, sneering comments I've seen lately.

Leroy, I been thinkin for weeks now that something just doesnt seem right in DPC land, so it isn't just you. Don't know what it is - maybe a shift in membership, maybe spring fever... but I hope it works out soon too.

Awww, common :) It's a great value. Things do seem sort of a bit out of sorts lately, but I figure it's the change in seasons. My theory: People get antsy when light changes; light changes so much when seasons change, and photographers are affected by light more than the regular population, so you can imagine how grumpy all those photogs are right about now.

I noticed this not that long ago. But when I said something I got my head bitten off and the thread was locked. Hmmm...it seems I wasn't too far wrong.

Oh well...back to what I was doing before. Staying nice and quiet and being a good girl.

Out of curiosity, and because I'm trying to bring some fun back into the site :)

When you say, "Right on target!", are you referring to the "who hacked DPC", or "just a cycle", or "maybe it's just me"?0

And don't start yelling of whatever. I am just trying to make a little bit of fun. DPC is supposed to be for fun after all.

Like I said before, for me a lot of it is just that school gives me a lot less time for shooting. However, maybe school was just well-timed. I'm still out every weekend, I generally still manage to get at least one entry in every week (though it's not unusual to skip a week entirely), but it seems like I'm no longer shooting for DPC so much as I'm going out to shoot and simply happening across something that works for a challenge. I've been shooting a fair bit of film lately. Basically, I've not stepped away from photography, but I've drifted away from DPC a little bit, and I do think the community's mood shift has something to do with that.
