Well over the last few days I have had a bit of a headache which I thought was from eyestrain over the last couple of days my sight has gone all fuzzy to the stage it is difficult to make out detail in any thing. Hopefully a change in prescription may solve this although it is barely 6 month from my last checkup, and the thought of loosing my sight is really scary.

However if the worst comes I'll have to swap my camera gear for a guide dog

I am certainly no medical expert, but you may want to undergo a physical. People of my age tend to associate headaches, blurred vision and other symptoms with something more dire than failing eyesight.

My intent is certainly not to alarm you, but rather to ensure that you consider all of the possibilities.

ditto that, if it was just blurred vision I would say you an optomitrist is all you should need but slight headaches followed by very recent fuzzy vision is reason to look (no pun intended) into it.

Nick, have you been to your doctor recently for a full checkup? Wouldn't hurt if you haven't......please.

Uhmm... you may want to see a medical doctor... An optometrist is pretty much nothing more than a glasses dispenser... If you think it's your eyes, see an ophthalmologist or go to your family doctor, you may need to be referred to a neurologist.

You should go to your primary care doctor and request an MRI be done just in case. The last thing you want to do is find out you have a brain tumor and tried to get a new eyeglass prescription for it.

Just so you don't get TOO worried (though a medical checkup is a good idea), I suffer from chronic headaches and when I get bad headaches, my vision gets worse. Nothing medically serious, but definitely a bit more than annoying at times. Take care of yourself and get it checked out.

If you go to an eye doctor, make sure that you have a dilated eye exam (-eye drops that dilate the pupil).

I do not mean to alarm you, but this was almost exactly my list of symptoms before I was diagnosed with Multiple Scholosis. It was even diagnosed by an ophthalmologist. I thought it was a vision thing, turned out to be a nerve thing. I think a visit to your family doctor with a referral to a neurologist might be what you need.

Eeeee. . .I'm saying a prayer for you right now! If nothing else, go to your medical doctor just to rule out anything serious and give you peace of mind that it is just an eye thing!

Please let us know what you find out, okay?????
