Hmmm... I only know half of my co-workers' last names, and two of them I've known for 15 years...
I can fully understand the boss not giving out her number, and if noisemaker had stopped to think I'm sure he wouldn't have even asked, but to ask that his number be passed on, for her to use or not, as she chose, isn't, imo, at all "stalkerly".
Still, it's up to his boss if he wants to forward the message or not.
Personally, I'd be very appreciative if a co-worker cared enough to check on me if he/she felt something was wrong that he/she could possibly help with.
I suspect he's not particularly angry with the boss specifically, but frustrated and feeling helpless with the whole situation.
And no, caring is not a bad thing!
eta; moving our location discussion from the other thread to this, since this is your thread and I don't wanna hijack Art's :D
We're just up the road from Western Food and St. Vincent's, so can almost see your place from here... mwahahaha....
Ack! Now I'm giving a stalker info! ;)

It is -- but it is definitely not good to get emotionally wrapped up in the problems of others. You can't fix the problem (it's not yours), so getting emotionally wrapped up in it will just frustrate you with not being able to do anything about it.
Unless you feel she is in danger or a danger to herself and others, it will wait until she comes back to work. But from what you said, you took the edge off of it before she left, so that's not likely.
