| Maybe I haven't been around DPC long enough, maybe I'm just not 'with-it', maybe I need a new dictionary..........but please tell me, what does 'bump' mean? |

| Yeah, bump, lol. I have seen loads of posts in the forums where someone will just say 'bump'. I've tried following posts to make sense of it but unfortunately failed. |

Bump...to get the thread back to the top of the list for more attention for whatever reason.

| Bump - it's just what one types to put a thread back to the top of the pile. To be used with caution, as it can get annoying quickly. |

Well, if nobody had responded to this and you wanted to keep it from falling off the front page you might just post "bump" to bump it back up to the top of the list, where it's more likely to be seen :)

| Had the same moment of confusion myself a week or so ago. Apparently "bump" is a forum post that puts a thread back on top, as a "most recently posted to" thread. If you had a thread you wanted people to see, and thus potentially contribute to, bumping the thread back to the top of everyone's forums list brings it to everyone's attention. |

When there is no activity on a topic it tends to fall to the bottom of the page and eventually disappear. To make certain that at least the topic remains at the front page, people will "Bump it up", meaning that it remains readily viewable.

I have been enlightened! Thank you all. Think I like the 'Bump....cause you just wanna bump!' by  judi best. Now that I know how to use it, I promise not to abuse it. |
