I just reinstalled my system and now either cs2 or ligthroom can't find my raw files, I can't even see them trough explorer it just shows a couple of empty folders. But I can access the in-camera.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it?

Did you reinstall the Windows RAW viewer?

Did you re-acquire the RAW plugin for CS2/Lightroom?

So, is CS2 and Lightroom working now? If not, is the plugin in the right place?

Windows RAW viewer --> downloadable from Microsoft.com.

You should be able to see the file names and info using Windows Explorer, at least, I would think. Unless the files are not there. (?)

maybe this is some sort of weird riddle. one where you can only be given very specific information about the situation or the answer will become blatently obvious...

Yeah, the RAW viewer just allows you to open them in a Picture & Fax Viewer style preview window. Windows explorer may not know what to do with them without the RAW viewer, but it should display them, though the icon might be very generic looking.

Installed rebooted, still nothing.

I've even tried taking some new raws on another card.
jpg on the same card works fine and the raw files are viewable in-camera.

If can't get this working by tomorrow I'm calling canon.

Are you using a card reader or just connecting the camera to the computer? If connecting the camera you probably have to use something like Zoombrowser or some other Canon software to view them.

I called canon and they told me to uninstall everything and then reinstall it.

Now it works.
