Flying! Spells! Potions! Witches! Wizards! Unicorns!
(maybe i've been reading too much Harry Potter?)
our imaginations are full of magic!!
i am proposing a 30 day MaGiC challenge in which we let our imaginations unfold with surrealism and fantasy!!
who's in this with me? :) :) :)

here are some examples of great works on this site that i consider magical. of course... because this is a 30 day challenge and the rules are there are no rules... you can twist around "magic" into being so many things.... there is so much magic in the world.

I haven't been very good with finishing these things (except the macro challenge) but I'd love to give it a try. This one sounds really exciting; just hope I can get my brain thinking creatively enough.

I stood on that foot today, just to try, but I guess it was a bit early, so it hurts again the whole day...
my first magic experience wasn't really succesful:)
I'll try again tomorrow.

[diversion] Here's my only broken bone story:
I shattered my ankle on a motorcycle in my twenties and was told I had to wear a full-length cast for six weeks. I was in the Navy at the time and they wouldn't let me go back to the ship until I got the cast off. Unfortunately they wouldn't just let me stay home either - I had to report to the hospital everyday and they gave me a job filling pill bottles in the pharmacy. Even more unfortunately they would not let me near the narcotics.
They also had other people there doing various jobs including a guy who was awaiting discharge for several mental disorders - they made him the open-air shuttlebus driver, taking the rest of us around to our various jobs. He drove like a crazy man. One day I nearly lost my leg completely on the drive to my "new job" at the pharmacy. I immediately called my division officer on the ship that afternoon and told him if he ever wanted to see me alive again, he needs to call the hospital and tell them my presence is required on the ship.
Against the doctor's strongest advice ("how are you going to get up and down the ladders?"), I pulled it off. The night before I was supposed to go back to the ship, I thought to myself "How am I going to get up and down those ladders??" - so I cut the top of the cast off just below the knee, wired a rubber flip-flop to the bottom and just hobbled on it. This was less than two weeks into my six week full leg cast instructions.
To make a long story less long, I walked on it 3 weeks before I was supposed to and probably screwed it up for life. It still looks swollen and gives me problems now and then. But of course, I am just thankful to have survived the Naval hospital. :)

In an on-topic note, I picked up a really nice Manfrotto tripod and pistol grip ball head today. Got it with my magic credit card. :D |
