This is a long shot but I'm looking for someone who knows PHP and OSCommerce and could help me.
I have one bug left b4 going online. The download option isn't working. You can have all the details in this post HERE.
If anyone here can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Yanik

this is along shot too, i have no idea about OScommerce. if you're running windows try right clicking the download link, and chosing 'save target as...' . i've run into that on one of my old servers with *.zip files.
not sure if it was the extension, or the server config for downloads.

You apparently need to add the path to some variable so that your "attribute system" or whatever knows where to find it. Unix? The path will be something like /u/foo/bar/installed/my/path/to/downloads/
You could probably also get away with a relative path depending on how it's structured.
That's your problem though. Your application has no idea where to find your downloadable files. Find the place where you need to add that information, and do so. |

In the "product attributes", don't just put the filename. Put the path to the file. Where is the application insalled on the server? What's the directory path to the app? What's the directory path to your website? If you know the answers to these questions, you'll solve it. Site hosted on Unix? It will be something similar to this (specifics of the path are obviously system-dependant):
/u/kosmikkreeper/www/oscommerce/downloads/sample_1.zip
Hosted on Windows? Maybe it's more like:
D:\Users\k\kosmikkreeper\www\oscommerce\downloads\sample_1.zip
(Note this has nothing to do with the file location on your computer, but rather on the server hosting your website.) |

The docs for osc are a little vague but I think Louis is on the right track. Its hard to say if OSC is using an absolute path or if its using PHP's "document root".
My guess is its using document root for the path so I would try using the following...
/httpdocs/store/download/sample_1.zip
also check your file catalog/includes/configure.php and make sure that the 2 following define lines end in a slash and look like this....
define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');
define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/'); |
