I just bought a Pentax AF360, picking it up tonight so I'm not technically "using" it yet...

The K100D and K10D only support P-TTL flash, meaning you need to use the Pentax AF360, AF540, or the soon to be released AF200. I have no idea what kind of functionality you'd get out of an older Pentax TTL flash.

Sorry, I'm not very helpful on this front. Ask me again in a few days once I've had time to test out my new flash!

Both pentax flashes are reasonably priced. Id stick with the pentax flash only because I don't have my K10D yet and wouldn't trust anything else yer.

For a macro flash im looking at Sigma's Ring flash that is Pentax P-TTL compatible.

Yeh! I'm thinking the pentax 360, only drawabck is that it cant swivel left to right. That P-ttl I think is a real bummer. Or I would have opted for the af500 which retails at BH for around $250. I finally got a response from Pentax, they say FTZ is a no no. Lemme wait an see if the af200 can swivel.

Your only choices right now for a head that will tilt and swivel are the Pentax AF540FGZ, and the Sigma EF-500 DG Super (If, that is, you want a flash gun with full features. There are a bunch of flashes that tilt and swivel, but are without advanced features of any kind.)

I'm not even sure if the Sigma is fully compatible with the K100d. Any takers?

It is. There are two versions though, the DG ST and DG Super.. it's the Super that is fully compatible. The only thing it doesn't do on the K100D is talk wireless with the built-in flash.. and it might not even do that with the K10D with the firmware upgrade.. but I'm not sure.
