My camera really is pretty crap, and drives me insane. But every now and then it manages to take a photo I like (assissted by me to some extent). Tonight I went to (and danced a little bit in) a bellydance performance. Somehow I managed this panning shot of a woman doing a beautiful veil dance, and I wanted to share it with you guys :)

click here. I'm the 2nd one in the front row, in the maroon top :).

Very cool! At first all the motion of the shot disturbed me, but as I read through the description and focused on the belly, it's wonderful! Here's another case to me where the artist's description of their thoughts really adds (directs the viewer!!) to the photo!

Thanks for sharing!

Lisa, I love this image. It has a dreamlike quality and reminds me of when I took a belly dancing class some years ago. It is terrific fun and good exercise. Glad you posted this picture. Nice!

Thanks for the comments :). It's a bit sad though... I started a course that runs in the evenings and on weekends and clashes with all the times I can do bellydancing class. Last night was the last bit of dancing I'll be able to do until the course finishes.... in 10 months :(.

Oh well, I'll likely get work in 3d CG/animation out of doing the course, so it's OK.

Lisae! Nice image! Love the story that goes along with it too, and love the image of you and the others dancing in line, too.
Awesome that you focused on the belly and not the eyes.. as many would do by default.. as the subject is belly dancing! cool!
