I saved all of my raw files to 16-bit TIFF files. Now in Photoshop I can't edit using layers. Do i have to convert them to 8-bit to edit them??

Depending on what version of Photoshop you have, some of the editing features are only available in 8-bit mode. PS7 was really bad (very little could be done in 16-bit mode). CS was better. CS2 still better. I'm not sure, but I think everything can be done in 16-bit mode in CS3.

Great...of course I'd have photoshop 7..lol
Thanks alot. I'll just work in 8-bit mode and convert to Jpeg from there.
