New 5D, 2 new (formatted) CF cards, New Mac......

Shot 6 images (RAW) yesterday, viewed and edited them last night on Mac, left images on the CF card.

Shot 50 or so RAWS today on same card.....viewed them during the shoot....Went home, put in the CF card into reader, only the 6 images from yesterday registered in Canon capture software.....put CF card back into the 5D and it said CANNOT VIEW IMAGE.

Put CF card back into reader, not only did none of the new images shot today show up, only 2 of the 6 images from yesterday could be read.....rest were CORRUPT.

I would think this would be the CF card, but it has happened on 2 different occasions on different cards.

Any ideas?
Thanks

sounds like you have too much new stuff

There is no telling what the reader program is doing -- best to just copy with the OS provided file handling utilitites.

However, as another option for investigation, are the numbers of the images shot on both days the same? That is, is the numbering starting over with each insertion of the card?

But yeah, you have too much new stuff. :(

I've never experienced anything like that. I usually wipe my cards after importing them, but when I don't my camera doesn't do that.

What kind of cards are they?

They are Delkin cards, been using them in my 10D for years, never a lost image....can I assume that all my hard work and images are gone forever?

Try one of the images recovery programs. A web search will give you several options -- some have trials others are free.

I salvaged 24 files from a card a couple of days ago for a co-worker. Very easy to use.

Use the camera to format the cards and try again. Sounds like something went wrong when you viewed the six the first time.

If I format I lose all images? Everything went fine when I viewed the 6 images the first time (last night).

I am trying an image recovery program, hope it works

I've heard that PhotoRescue works very well in recovering images. It also what was used in the Luminous Landscape Antartica Expedition.
