Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM

I cannot get my browswer (IE 7) to show that I have flash installed, this has been a problem for quite some time. Today I just uninstalled IE and put a brand new copy of IE7 on my computer and its still not allowing me to see Flash pages. I know its installed but somehow its disabled. I have been all in my settings and options and cannot find anywhere where it says it is disabled.

Can anyone help?

I am having to use Mozilla Firefox to view pages with flash, which usually means having to copy and paste URLs into another browser...blah blah blah.

Mine has done the same thing since about a week after I bought my current computer. I have reinstalled Flash Player about a dozen times and finally just gave up. But it really is frustrating! :/

Okay, this must be some sort of bug in the system, but you would think everyone would have it then. I don't get it. But it is comforting to know that someone else is suffering...LOL

Yes! Good crime solving Cindi! Maybe we need Dell updates.

I am updating windows, gonna see if I can find some Dell updates or some FAQ on their website. Let me know if you find anything?

Another curious question? Is this a new computer and might it be Running Windows XP 64Bit version?

Press and hold the Windows key (between left ctrl and alt keys) and press the pause/break key to open the system dialog. (should say somewhere on the dialog what version of XP you are running)

Way back when I was beta'ing 64 bit WinXP I was having similar issues, WinXP 64bit has (2) flavors of IE; a 32bit and a 64bit version. Flash would not install and run on the 64bit version of IE but ran fine on the 32Bit. Don't know if they got this fixed or not.

Is IE 7 really the latest? ... and as far as the version is concerned ... yes it shows me but doesn't say anything about 64 or 32 bit ... I assume 32 bit ... I am not having this problem ... may or may not be related ...

Simple...install linux and firefox 2.0.0.2 :D

No, seriously though...that's what I did when I was sick of Windows being bogged down by whacked out software and bugs...haven't looked back yet and it's been a good week or so.

Even Firefox in Windows solves LOT of such problems ...

Well, this is what I got. Don't see anything about 32 or 64 bit.

Yup...Home addition, this one is 32bit so my earlier post is moot. I will see what I can scare up.

Did you check here to make sure it is enabled?

Tools > Internet Options > Programs (tab) > Manage Add-Ins (button)

And why don't you use firefox as default browser? I quit using IE a few years ago.

I'm running IE7 on a Windows XP Pro machine and have no trouble w/ Flash.

Have you checked your IE7 security settings and made sure you can run active content?

Mines enabled in the internet options/manage add-ons. Just not workin.
I am about to give up on it.

I like firefox, but I use this chubby fat msn explorer too to manage like 6 email accounts so I hate toggling back n forth between browsers.

Just had another alleged thought....

Had this one at work a week or two back.

How many nifty little Toolbars do you have in IE?

I had a girl with both Yahoo! and Google toolbars (Sheesh how much help does someone need), Flash animations would not work for her.

Let's see Google has a popup blocker, Yahoo! has a popup blocker and IE7 has a popup blocker...Hmmmm... They all add a bunch of useless stuff that we don't need/use anyway.

Killing off (uninstalling) Yahoo!'s tool bar,Flash animations started working for here. There might be a setting that you can change but when I see these "BS" bars at work and I chuck em.

I've seen some other sporadic issues with IE7 and Flash...How comfortable are you in Registry?
