Well what a great surprise. Just got back from a 7 day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel. Logged in to Alamy and sold a pic there last week for $815! What a nice surprise. I guess I need to go away more often ;).

just FYI:

i found a Yahoo! group that is specifically about shooting for Alamy.

you HAVE to have your QC images already passed and online to join!

//tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/AlamyPro/

i just got in there yesterday and have barely scratched the surface, but i've already gotten some good information.

and if you haven't read through the Alamy contributor blog, i highly recommend that too. the articles are OK, but the comments are really informative.

Thanks for the link muckpond.. I'm sure I'll make my way over to check it out once I get my images keyworded and up to their site.

Btw, I passed QC last night =)

Yeah! Got accepted yesterday at Alamy and IfImages! I'm happy now =D
It took them 1 month and 2 days at Alamy to review my initial submission, damn long. I'm now preparing another dvd.
Do any of you have sales at IfImages?

Congrats Rabi9634 and Kozmix!
I would like to see your submissions. Post a link, please.

Today Alamy Blog has addressed the issue with image size.
Very usefull info if your starting out. It explains a lot.

Very nice images!
I really liked the red squirrel.

Did you know, the Grey squirrel is more aggressive and the Red is more passive? Here, the grey squirrels Dominates. They chase off and kill the reds for territory. I have seen a few reds in the country but rarely ever really see them in town. I also lived in Marionville, MO. where they have a colony of white squirrel. I need to go back someday and get some pictures of them.

Ok here's the links from three that sold last week. Really sometimes the ones that I feel will not sell are the ones that do.
.
ARP5W4 $815
ANNY8A $285
AD10MC $176

Not bad for one week

Thanks =) I'm glad that I finally got accepted. I was really concerned when I saw the processing status list two errors. I'm just happy I got approved before they switched over to the online uploading. I would imagine they would be much more difficult to get into once that opens up, solely because it's now such a common method for the microstock groups. I'd imagine there's going to be quite a flood of newcomers that were intimidated by the cd/dvd submission process once the upload thing goes online.

Anyways.. here they are: My Alamy Images

This one i found at Rastila Camping, Helsinki, near a lake and kind of forest, very cool place =)

When you register for Alamy, do you register to submit photos or submit and purchase photos?

Register to submit, then you will have access to the area where submission guidelines and instructions are.

Hi all

New to the stock scene, just got on with fotolia, saw this forum and following threads to see where they go...

Just saw that Alamy expects newbies to send in pix on dvd/cd...surely that can't be for each time you submit photos, is it? Or just the first time, then you have access onsite to allow you to upload from there?

EVERYTIME. For now.

sending cd's isn't THAT painful once you get around to it.
