I like the picture, I'm just not sure it goes with the words. It doesn't say edgy/emo/urban/nude, but maybe a little glam.
If you examine the words, you only have 1 (possibly 2) of 5 categories represented in this picture. |

I love it and think it works great with the purpose!
If I wanted to get my shots done, I would want to look as gorgeous as the woman there... Makes me want to 'glam' up for it!

Well, truth is, I do alot of different types of portraiture, but since the edgy market is smaller than the traditional market, I chose to use a photo that represents a more mainstream group. I was going to use a more edgy photo, but I am trying to get a advertising package geared up for high school girls. I thought this photo may grab their attention a little more. I do understand what you are saying though. I may have to make another card using a different photo to reach the edgy crowd. |

if you were directing this towards more mainsteam id say words like glamor and stuff like that and dont use edgy and all that.

Does "Emo" stand for "Emotional", or for Emo Philips?

Yeah, knowing how to reach people is something I struggle with. I know other people don't think like I do, so I'm not very confident making new marketing material, even business cards. I just decided in the end to make a card with a lot of photos on it, and let them speak for themselves, which may or may not work better than your theory ;) |

Using that explanation I understand and think the photo is great! The High School girls will love it too. I can't wait to see the one with the edgy photo. |

Not working for me either, maybe the site has some filter against bandwidth steeling. You can right click on it and copy/paste the entire path into your browser to see it. Nothing special, just a picture of that freaky Emo guy.

I know what you mean kel - this is something I've struggled with for a LONG time... how to make one card work for all of it. You have done a better job than I've managed (though that doesn't mean alot!) For what its worth, i think her eyes are a little too (large? open? white?) - can't put my finger on it... (sorry)
Finally decided to just leave the whole 'nude' thing totally separate, because I don't feel like having some pissed off parent coming after me with a gun / knife / whatever. I would imagine they are much the same in your area.
Anyway, you know I wish you good luck Kelly; your talent will shine through, regardless! |
