Hi Team!

Well I'm holding steady on 5.1 for the free study, a personal best for me.
Due to some unforseen personal issues, or maybe I am the issue, I missed the furniture challenge, but I will be in on red.

Hope you guys had a great weekend.

Jan.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to update you on my Red Score, @ 18 votes I am sitting at 5.4, I am happy with this considering my horrible score in low key (which I am actually upset that I didnt get the brown for by the way). How is everyone else doing in their respective challenge?? Dont for get to get out and shoot for this weeks challenge.

Hey!

I'm at 5.2 for the free study and a miserable 4.4 on red..

Rich, I think you should have scored higher on low key. I think it is an excellent shot and great imagination.

FInsished 15th on ice. Got a photo in on alt. med. 4.6 ugh. Had to submit something tho.

Thanks Jan,

Appreciate that comment on the low key entry :) ... Voting has been miserable this morning in all challenges,(been talking to a few other people about it actually. Think of it this of it this way both of you, scores normally go up through out the week so dont really worry to much.

And even though the score is not the highest, for the team a four is better than a zero if we do not participate.

Good luck shooting this week!

Week 4 yet another loss. And yet only 3 entries as a team.

My Week 4 scores were GREAT with me, Rich! a 5.7500 and a 5.9422
But it's hard to have a good TEAM score with only 3 participating, yes.

For the past 4 weeks, I have entered at least 2 challenges per week...I get disappointed when we get zeros added into our average because we don't have the required 4 photographers needed. Out of 7 team mates, we should be able to pull 4, right?! C'mon team, it's not over yet! Don't give up! :)
Arrrr!

I admit i missed 2 challenges week 2 & 3. My excuse was i did not have a camera. but id did week 4 with ice 6.5. and i am in week 5 meds. with a 4.6 :(
I guess it doesnt matter anymore. week 5 is the last week it looks like. Hopefully we will not go defeated.

Mitch,

I understand your postion and I am not blaming anyone. I mean it is hard to take a photo without a camera. I am glad that you have stuck it through those weeks without a camera and came back for the last few weeks.

Elizadeb,

You are a very good photographer, Your determination and want to have a team succeed make up for the things we still have to learn. I congratulate you on being the only member to submit for every week, let alone 2 challenges per week. I will gladly sail this ship with you any season, (that is if you can accept my crappy scores).

Jan,

You have a very nice talent as well. Your ideas are very creative and the execution end result is very nice. Keep up your hard work on this one.

Mark,

Your creative talents with your ideas for your photos have made me laugh. The thought behind them are wonderful. Keep this up as you go forward because alot of people (myself included) do not have this and struggle with every challenge they enter that is not a free study.

Lee,

I have always loved to see all your photos, your imagery and composition always speaks magnitudes to me when I look at them. I look at allot of them and think about my photography and think this is what I would like it to be like someday.

Kat,

I didnt get to know you well as I would have liked to, I am glad you got your new job, I just hope that you get to make time for some photography and fun while you are working.

As for me, I had allot of fun with all of you, I wished it could have turned out allot better and we could have won a few of the matches but at least we can say we tried and most of us now know if we can handle wpl as well.

Lets try and get some photos in for week 5 so we can end on a good note. I thank you all for any time that you spent doing the WPL and hope you had a bit of fun.

Rich

Har me mates!

It's been fun till now and quite challenging I must admit. There's been a few challenges that really got the mind working for ideas.

Now, I'm of to go find a circle...

Well Pirates, just to let you know that I've scored a new personal best!
My Feb free study entry finished on 5.3! I'm so proud!
03/08/2007 12:13:11 PM · #292
Way to go Jan! Congrats on your personal best.

I've been very delinquent lately, but it's getting so much better now that we have kitty home again. (In an urn!) I will enter at least two images a week as I had been before we had to deal with this whole mess. I'm shooting circles and will enter either grain/noise or crossdressers...lol. I've got a funny idea, but may need a little creativity to get the hubby in heals, braaaahahahaha!

03/08/2007 12:18:31 PM · #293
Why thank you Kat!

I'm still deciding between grain and cross dress, seeing as I am my model, it could turn out really bad....

Also shooting circle really like that one!

Rich, WOW! Thanks for the kind words...

It is with me pirate hat in hand that I come to you guys asking your forgiveness. I signed up for WPL at a time when my life was slowing down a bit and I made a promise to myself to compete in challenges every week and joining a team would help me commit to that promise. That's when I hooked up with you wonderful people and was reinvigorated to get out and shoot...

Since then, life seems to have gotten in the way again. My grandmother has been put into a nursing home which has been rather traumatic for my mother, my son has had a few illnesses and is approaching the terrible twos and is requiring more of my time. I have also been commissioned to shoot a wedding in August and the bride has several special requests that are occupying much of my time. She wants multiple shoots to get engagement photos, a location bridal portrait, a studio bridal portrait, and a "special surprise" bridal portrait for her soon-to-be husband. The ideas are great and I am glad to have the opportunity to work with this particular couple because they are truly wonderful people and very refreshing to work with. It is, however taking much more time than I had anticipated shooting and processing all of these photos. In addition to all of the above mentioned activities, I have a full time job and am in the middle of a complete and total bathroom makeover that I am doing 100% myself (plumbing, electrical, framing, tiling, etc etc etc).

Needless to say that all of these activities have drastically cut into my hobby time and I have not been able to go out and commit to shooting like I had hoped. I realize that I have been absent for a while now and have missed the last two weeks of challenges. Maybe it was the virtual collapse of the WPL that sucked some of the wind out of my sails, maybe I have been too tired to feel "inspired", but whatever it is, I realize that I have let both myself and more importantly my team down. As I step back to try to recollect myself and become "reinspired", I can only hope that I have not disappointed you guys too badly. I will make every effort to get some shots this weekend for the current challenges, but the way things are going, I don't know how successful I'll be. Please don't think badly of me, I sincerely apologize for the damage I've caused the team scores as of late... I am fully prepared to walk the plank if that's what the team feels is required of me.

My humblest and sincerest apologies....

Rich
03/12/2007 07:00:10 AM · #298
Well, as I thought, my circle is sitting on a 3.5....
I'm at a 5.1 for time though...
03/13/2007 11:51:18 AM · #299
Well it looks like we will at least have 4 entries for week 5 since i am in on alt. med. only at a 5.0xx.
Looks as if it may be close for a win.
03/13/2007 11:55:27 AM · #300
I am in on RED and I am at a 5.70 at this very moment. I will be so glad if we can pull off a victory in week 5.

Rich
