Tamron has released a new fast zoom telephoto:

Looks like it's built similarly to the very popular 28-75, and it's got a closer minimum focus distance than most lenses in that range.

I had the not-so-popular older 70-210mm version, which I really regret selling. It was built better than the 28-75, so this new one might be a step down. Still, the image quality from the 28-75 was great, and if this one is similar and it's priced well it should be pretty popular.

It would be interesting to know how the performance in the corners is wide open on a 35mm frame. It will also be interesting to know what the street price will be.
