I'll take 10. Make sure to leave comments in the description field of what you were trying to accomplish. Camera settings are some PP stuff is helpful too. As always, I don't read other comments before leaving mine.

Does that time frame include the Trees challenge? I only got one other comment on this one ...

03/07/2007 01:00:31 PM · #8
sure hope it does include "trees" ... I didn't get any comments on this one ... I am fully aware that it isn't ribbon quality, but I guess I expected it to at least score a 5.3 ...

5.2895 - hoped it would have done a little better :(

Got a 4.8. This was for the trees challenge with minimal editing.

I've always thought these threads were great starter-uppers, and would like to reiterate my suggestion that each of us lucky enough to post a picture for comment here also comment on the nine other pictures, maybe over the course of the next week.

great idea ... I learn from both giving and receiving comments ... I'll make that committment to comment on the rest of the photos that DrAchoo picks for the week ...

The comments received during the challenge indicate this isn't "low key" - pretty much a consensus on that part. I'm not sure where the line is drawn.

OK, that's enough. I can't comment on shots posted below this one...

Great idea. I have commented on all ten shots myself. Only fair to give while recieving.

Thanks Doc. :-)

Yeah! Thanks Doc. Your comments went above and beyond and helped in ways in which I can improve this and other shots. Much appreciated :)

I finished with everybody. I think it's great that others are chiming in too because the 4.5 to 5.5 score tends to really get lost in the comment department.

Thanks Jason,

Much appreciated with the kind words of encouragement, maybe I should have left it in color.

Okay, if anybody can tell me why this deserved a 4.7? It was an extremely difficult technical piece to get. I even got sparkle on the snow, which is hard to do. Not only that, but it was well focused and had many great textures. I have other photos that scored higher that are much worse, unless of course my monitor is lying to me and it is not showing me what everybody else is seeing. Somebody said it was snap-shottish, but this is not a snapshot. Most people wouldn't even notice the beauty of the sculpted snow, or the play of shadow from the grasses. I even got deer tracks in the upper part of the image. Is this really that bad?

I've added comments to the first five.

Here's one I'd like your thoughts about.

Several comments I received were about the composition, the graininess, and the color. I realize that there is quite a bit going on here, I cropped as I did due to a banister coming down which didn't add to the picture, I liked the lines and the patterns in the stair rail which duplicated the "G". The graininess was due to poor lighting and I didn't have access to a noise reduction filter. Anyway, your thoughts are appreciated.
