I don't know what all the fuss is about. Even on a clear night you won't be able to see the moon anyway. The earth will be blocking the sunlight from reflecting off it.

The moon is now just visible from the light reflected from the Earth.

300mm manually focussed - on my cheepo sigma infinity is just off focus.
Going for a much longer exposure now it is obscured. |

Hmn, now that its just gone "orange", my camera just seems to take photos that are just black. Any suggestions on settings that may "bring out the colo(u)r"? |

OK, now we are in the totality its a little bit underwhelming.. However, one thing I have noticed is that you get a better sense of the moon being a sphere, instead of the flat disc we usually see, its defintely has a more `3D` feel to it.. anyway, bored taking pictures of it now.. trying star-trails instead :-)

The Eclipse is NOW, its the same the world overs, its not the same as a Solar Eclipse.. So basically you should be able to see this as soon as its dark enough to see the moon.. |

Was shooting for a while and just before the total eclipse the clouds moved in. Gonna see what's on my card now and maybe edit a bit. Back in.... two hours? :)

Clear skies in Colorado. I've found a vantage point at 10,000 feet. I know when the moon will rise. And, I know it will be 80 degrees east of north. So, I'm off to set up for the shot. It will be in the last phases, so I don't know if it will be good. But, we have CAVU in CO. |

I am shooting LOTS of frames ... the clouds moved away here in Belgium and I am pumped ... not as good as some people with 8" reflector telescopes to mate with their camera, I am sure, but I am pretty damn happy that the clouds went away for this ...
P.S. just taking a break during totality as I took a TON of shots of this stage and waiting for the waning ...
