In case you have not heard, there will be a total eclipse of the moon Saturday night. Sounds like a photo-op to me!

Be advised that the eclipse will be full when the moon rises on the East coast of the USA and will allow for some amazing moonrise images.

On the West coast of the USA the eclipse will pretty much be over with before moonrise and westerners will only see the very latest stages of a partial eclipse.

Those in England, Europe and Africa will see the whole thing and it will be a conveniet time after full sunset but it will be high in the sky.

I've never gotten the appeal of a lunar eclipse. It just looks like bad photoshopping by god when it happens. :P

I'm bummed. I've been really looking forward to this since I learned about it early this year. It's supposed to be cloudy and snowy here in the Midwest.

This was done during the last one on the roof of the parking garage where I was on call over about 90 minutes. I doubt we'll see it here. Too many clouds.

Even if it is clear you will miss it anyway because it will be long past totality before moonrise on the west coast. :(

I've been watching predictions for two days... it looks like it will clear here around 17:00 on Saturday, so I might jut have a chance at it.

Looks like it will be totally clear here in the UK :)
I photographed the last 2 even though i only caught a few shots in between
the clouds. This time the UK is center stage to see the whole event.

Nothing much to see there if it was perfectly clear ... The west coast will get to see a TINY bite out of the moon at best.
