I have a small problem with my internet homepage address. I have it set for dpchallenge. But once I click Internet Explorer it goes to google. I look back at the internet options and its set to google.com UGH! Is there a bug doing this and is it possible to get ride of it?

Any help?

Edit: I have windows xp

Sounds like a spyware issue... I'd run a program to see what it finds.

Many anti-spyware applications have settings to prevent homepage hijacking. These can be over zealous and prevent you from changing your homepage. Turn it off if you have such an application, change the page, then turn it back on.

Since you said you ran Spybot S&D then the setting is "Lock IE start page setting". You'll have to uncheck that to make the change.

I'm trying my hardest before I ask stupid questions and I think I'm getting ready to ask one. Where is "lock IE start page setting"? I'll uncheck it once I find it, lol.

First, if it isn't already, Mode > Advanced

Tools > IE Tweaks then look at the middle option under Miscellaneous locks.
