Pentax Flash Question (K10D Related)

Does any of pentax flashes strobe and if so is there any point to spending the money on it? The K10D is my target which does do 9 raw frames in a burst which is fine for me.

I normally hate flash but in low light environments i cant use continous without flash or have to use a tripod.

I have no idea whatsoever if these flashes do what you want...

Ill take a look basicly the flash can act liek a strobe light firing multiple times at a lower then full power setting. So basicly if i want todo a 9 shot continous the flash will burst for all 9 shots. Because if it cant then it cant use the flash at all. (ive seen Fuji SLR/SLR LIKE take one pic with flash and one without.

Many built in flashes can strobe 3 to 5 times but most only allow this for use in red eye reduction and in AF assist.

The AF360FGZ and AF540FGZ will strobe.. but I don't know about 9 consecutive frames...

To be honest, I've never ever been in a situation where I've needed that kind of strobing from a flash. What are you shooting, dog racing in a basement? ;)

My point and shoot has delivered 2 images without flash at iso 400 hand held that were worth a damn and here they are lol.

I gues the fire was just enough light but handheld makes it a whoel lot harder. I hate every single camera Olympus makes due to their high noise but i think the grain adds character and the Yellow to Orange against black reduces the color noise to almost grain like texture.

This is a situation where i wont be strobing a flash but i could imagine other situations. 9 Frames might be a bit of a stretch but hell my point and shoot strobes 5 times then delivers 80% on the last flash just for red eye reduction if i could get 5 strobes at about twice its output that would be cool.

Well, the flashes will strobe. I did get 6 or 7 frames out of my 360FGZ at a wedding once. Just realize that low light shooting with a DSLR (especially one with in-body shake reduction), is a whole new ball game. You'll probably almost never have to go to ISO1600, and it is also very dependent on the lens you are using.
