Hi everyone, I spent some time today playing with Close-up photography. Can I get some comments and help? I need to pick the best two. Now I know which ones I like, but I want to see what the general populous thinks...

I'm drawn mostly to the first and fifth photos.

i like the composition and the square crop.

i like the tones in this one.

i'm not sure about the last two, the faces are out of focus, unless that is what you wanted.

not quite what I wanted. I agree, it lets them down.

Thanks!

The force is strong with this one

Serously though, I prefer these:

I think your depth-of-field is a bit too shallow on your first three images. Not enough is in focus for most people to tell that anything is in focus.

Sheesh ... I left a LONG comment here but I must have forgotten to push the Post button ...

Basically I agree with skylercall but on ALL images ... I agree with suemack that these two are your best BUT ... if you have time to reshoot (since these are stationary objects and IF you are shooting from a tripod or other stable camera parking place) I would close down the aperture and slow down the shutter speed and get some more DOF in there. More light wouldn't hurt in that endeavour either.

I called it before skylercall but it got lost in the void ... LOL
