Just out of curiousity, has anyone heard of the Photography Convention in Las Vegas March 22-25? I was invited to it, but just curious if anyone else has heard of it.

		| Yes, and I would guess you would need to pay for your entry just like everybody else |

		Picture.com is a scam.

There are lots of previous threads though it's hard to do a search when you can't search on anything with a dot in it. Searching on 'picture.com' brings up anything with the word picture.

 Here's one :

		| WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) hold a huge convention every year in Vegas. Theirs is March 24-29 though. Do you know WHO's convention you were invited to? PPA (Professional Photographers of America) holds a Vegas convention too, but I can't seem to find their dates. |

if the invitation is from or related to Picture.com then it is a scam ... they supposedly hold these conventions, but you have to pay for your awards, most of the special guests and speakers don't show up, etc. |

It was picture.com (well they were an affiliate). I can't remember if it was like National Society of Photography or what not, but they want $595 for the photographer's registration, and $395 for each guest. Im not going to do it after reading what yall had to say about it being a scam.

 Thanks everyone

BTW, if they've also sent you letters saying they want to publish your photo in a book, that's all part of it -- they charge you something ridiculous like $60 (at a "contributor discount"!) if you want to buy it, and if you don't buy it they don't publish your picture anyway...
