Now there's a thought....I'd just have to work out how to do it! ;) Cheers!

It uploaded to me in about 10 secs here in Belgium. You must have had a router between you and there choking up ...

Just tried it again ... 17 secs to load main page and about 3 secs per image to view ... not HORRIBLE ...

My Ping Plotter is showing choke points in San Jose, Chicago and New York so ... I don't think this site is doing too bad for coming half way around the planet from Australia to me in Belgium ...

381 ms ... less than 1/2 second lag time from Australia to Belgium through the entire USA? ... man ... I remember the "Good (not!) Old Days) when it was a LOOOOOOOOOOOOT slower and that wasn't THAT long ago ... ROFL ...

Anyways Makka ... now you know how your server is performing ...

Wow that is crazy... I have to say that the transition from the dial up era to broadband was a big step and I will never go back. I'm sure that a lot of us wouldn't. I have to say that about the 10MB vs. the 1Mb and below. That is like Dial up to me. But I have to have a lot though because I am uploading and downloading things all day for work. I tell you what though once you get it you will LOVE it.

For those on T1 or T3 lines I worship you. I don't need that much but it sure would be nice to have sometimes.

This doesn't make sense. You have a 10 Mb/s connection so a 1 Mb/s connection feels like dial-up, ok, but then you worship people with T1 connections which are 1.5 Mb/s? T3 (45 Mb/s) I get but the T1 is confusing. Is it because it's symmetrical? I would be surprised if an ISP offered a 10 Mb/s connection with an upload below 1.5 Mb/s. What bandwidth does your package offer?

Yes I have a 10MB download and I want to say that my upload is 5MB but it might be 7MB I'm not 100% but it is one of those. Here is my ISP Charter Comm. I understand that T1 and T3 lines are actually slower but I guess I forgot to mention that I have a home server, 4 desktops, 2 laptops and a friend that sits outside my window every now and then and also connects to my setup. Yes T1 and T3 are slower but they also provide a quick and constant connection for what like thousands of people. So after everything is connected my internet slows down like you wouldn't believe. When I want some good speed I just have to turn all others off. Oh and I have a network printer and my PS2 hooked up to my router as well.

Neil, I was reading something on down about some people not liking the music if you go looking for different music a really good site for that is www.soundrangers.com. They have so much stuff it's crazy. Also if you have something in mind they will and can make it for you. Cheers

The idea is allright, don't get me wrong, and you do whatever you think you have to do, but I'm just not into every genre of music... you see what I mean?

So are you saying it's the type of music that bothers you or just music in general??

I'm not having a go, just getting feedback in general....everyone has different opinions so it's just nice to see the reason why...that's all! It's appreciated!

that's nice of you to say, thanks. I thought I might have been to harsh on you ;)

Music on sites bother me in general, yes. The music on your site is very personal, at least I think you chose it with a reason. Not everybody likes that type of music. All people have a different taste of music. So, what I want to ask you, do you only want clients who like this music?

(and I know there's a button to turn it off, haha ;))

Maybe you could add more than one music set so the customer could not only turn it off but actually change the music if they don't like it. Then you're slowing down the site more but hey it's an option. Wouldn't be too bad if you set flash to stream the music instead of actually downloading it for the end user.

If it took you 25 seconds to DL that and your running at the speed of light, I mean 12165 mbps your test lied to you. there is no way, my dl time was less than 10 seconds last night for the entire site

as far as the music goes. you could offer some config options on the splash page - potentially. letting the user chose from the begining if they want the music, or for that matter if they would rather view an HTML based version. there is no way to please everyone, but offering upfront options will more than likely turn less people away.
