I received complaints from two of my friends ,one African American ,one Hindu that their skin is much darker on my photos (extra crispy)!
I kind of agree with them.
Any suggestion how to take portrait shot of a darker skin person?

Yeah, use a little more light.

Here's a photo I took last week for a project at work. I didn't have any special technique in mind, just sun behind and fill flash. It is pretty accurate as to Seth's skin tone.

Use spot-metering. Also, try channel swapping with black and white photos. The red channel is noticeably lighter in all skin shades.
