Can anyone tell me how to rip a dvd to my hard drive in the right form to be able to view it on the PC? I have several different applications for the ripping part. IE Dvd Decryptor, RipIt4Me, DVD Shrink and also have Nero 7. I already know how to rip for buring but I am unsure how to rip for using the hard drive as the media and the computer as a player.

Please...I am not looking for a debate on the legality of this issue.

If you have any information as how to do this, please let me know.

Thanks.

Use normal burning software, but select hard drive as destination drive. DVD will be stored on your hard drive.

I've tried finding the info on Afterdawn but was unable to get a definite answer on how to do it.

Hmm..so all I do is go thru my normal ripping process and burn it to the hard drive instead of the DVD-R?

honestly if you've got plenty of hard drive space let DVD Shrink do it's job and you'll have a full quality rip that'll open in PowerDVD (if we're ignoring legality - just bit torrent yourself a copy of that if you don't have a good DVD playing application)

If you want to encode to XVID or DIVX I can probably point you to some quality step by step guides.

rip it as a ISO files with DVD Decryptor, install daemon tool, load the ISO files on the virtual daemon toll device and enjoy!

AnyDVD works flawlessly on pretty much EVERY dvd. Sounds like it works like another one... It runs in the background, destroying all security features, and you burn it like any normal disk. Seriously worth the $$$ if thats what your wanting to do.

Well here is what I did....I ran RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter and then DVD Shrink...removed the extras and burned to the HD. Works fine with Power DVD. Everything but the Power DVD is freeware software...can't beat FREE!

Why so much work? DVD Shrink is all you need.

DVD Shrink will not decrypt a lot of the newest movies.

Not sure lately, but DVD Shrink will decrypt, but Nero can't burn it. Perhaps it will save to HD??

So far when using the RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS and then DVD Shrink in that order. I was able to burn all of the newest movies with the Nero 7 Demo, IE Saw 3, Crank, Departed, The Covenant.

You need to go back to a previous version of Nero. The latest will not work with DVDShrink

go on google and download magic iso, with this you can rip any cd/dvd drive on your computer, it will make a standard *.iso, *.bin, *.cue file, then mount the file with dameon tools 7 or which ever one you have, by makeing a fake drive. that should work thats what i do atleast for alota junk
