Decided to start a thread for us to post our favorite free programs.
I just found one I fell in love with..
Free Download Manager
It has accelerated my download speeds from an avg of 250 kb/s to over 400 kb/s.
Plus it supports passwords and resume downloads, and its simple to use.
Oh if your on firefox use it with the "FlashGot" plugin..
Whats some of your fav free programs?

I like the RAW viewer and the Image Resizer (for when you quickly want to resize a photo to send to someone) from the Win XP powertoys collection. |

Yup i play it all the time, You have to register to get the key code then endure the 1.8GB download. Its really good and it totally replaces Halo 2 as far as online play goes for me.
If you like the single player action be prepared to cough up the cash. |

BUZZROCK... hold your horses. The Fear COnfig Utility supports whatever resolutions your video card supports! So i can do say 1280x720 Widescreen lol.
On another note my Ati X700 Pro with 256mb of GDDR3 clocked to 450mhz CPU and 510Mhz RAM barley passes performance wise it does the job but at mdeium quality settings.
I hope your rig i sup to spec an X850 or alot of the nvidia's are up to par. Believe it or not a SATA 300 Hard drive actually did alot for the game performance wise. |

You might be able to if you can hook into a CRT or a TV and down the res half of what u would normally use i mean it looks as good as the XBOX version at 800x600 on SVIDEO. U can turn the settings up and let ur graphics card have a break.
Have you tried ATI Tool for overclocking? If not please email me before proceding to break it. |

I still play the 'Halo Demo' for windows. It's free from Microsoft. It's the 1st version, and it includes only 1 level, and the multi-player is in Desert Gulch and that's it, BUT the multi-player action is awesome. It's good for a quick thrill.

Pixie is an easy-to-use, fast, and tiny utility designed especially to fit the needs of Webmasters and Designers. Its a color picker that includes a mouse tracker. Run it, simply point to a color and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values of that color.
I love this little program and have used it for years. |

Sysinternals is full of great pc utilities. The process explorer is one I use all the time.
I don't know if the utilities are being upgraded since Microsoft acquired the site.
