That is unbelievable about jerseygenie. What a total bummer, pass her kind and healing thoughts if you see/talk to her today!

I entered something I shouldn't have (and I knew it, almost pulled it) for Love, and am getting hammered. I thought I'd already learned that lesson, but back again for more punishment...

kelli thanks for posting about using caution in render effects for challenges. You are absolutely right. I don't use those effects when entering, (although I guess it would be fine for 'expert') only for my portfolio pictures.

Just got word that my step dad is ok, Very bad concussion, i think his pride is hurting more than his head though. the big fool.

I want to thank bmartuch noraneko JuliBoc and Melethia for their kind and frank comments on my music entry.

bmartuch - I'm also very surprised that it scored as well as it did. I thought that the toys would bomb totally. I'm quite pleased with the result.

Melethia I know nothing about stock photography - where do I go to learn more ?

Glad to hear it!

I heard from JerseyGenie this morning. She broke her tibia close to the knee. The swelling isn't going down, so they're going to "stabilize" it, which means putting boards on either side with pins to hold it all steady. She's going to need surgery, unfortunately, probably in about 10 days.

Her husband made it okay, and the next step is to figure out whether she gets to go home or stays here to wait until surgery.

What a nightmare for Jeanne! Hopefully she told her hubby to bring a laptop. :) Let her know we wish her the best and hope to hear from her soon.

Kashi, ask snaffles about stock - she just got into it, I think. Kelli does stock, too. I've not ventured there yet.

what a nightmare for people getting hurt lately, hope everybody will recover nicely with no complications.

I have posted my fastest entry every in Acronyms You hear it here first, my prediction, 5.4000, 3 favs, 7 comments.

i hope i do better but i fear it will fail.

I'm getting beat up too, because no one gets it! It's so obvious to me to, so I don't get why other's don't get it. Maybe after the challenge I can get some TS opinions.

Have you looked at the entries for Hate? There are a bunch that are extremely title dependant. I have to believe that many people are doing bad. I am seriously considering DQing myself.

Yeah, but I hear the people that hate brussels sprouts are all doing OK. LOL!! I self-DQ'd in the Jan-FS. This score doesn't bother me. Most scores don't unless it feels personal. I just wonder how many people take the time to actually look, I mean really look, before saying I don't get it. Not many would be my guess. Maybe I'll get an OOBIE for this one!

Even though 'hate' is an extreme, it's still an abstract notion, so it's only natural that titles will be helpful in some cases. It's not like the 'sky' challenge where sky meant the same thing to everyone. In other words, yes I shoe-horned, so sue me! Haha.

I wouldn't waste a dq on this challenge unless like kelli says, it's a personal insult. Given the ugliness of the challenge topic it's prolly gonna be a low scorer. Besides, brown is in vogue! There's hot competition for it these days!

p.s. i'm marking all the spinach and brussels sprouts dnmc cuz i think they're yummy .... (j/k about the dnmc)

There's a lot of hatin' going on in the Love challenge, too, by the way. And I shoehorned, but not really by that much. Score is a sub-5 and falling.

And I agree - don't self-DQ. Just turn off scores and let it ride.

I totally shoe-horned my "Love" entry. I admit it. And it was 100% last minute too. I think I should have just stopped while I was ahead.

I'm seeing sub-4.
