I got my first comment that all it included was "DNMC". Well on the first hand thank you while you're wrong the image is a complete SHOEHORN!. Its out of place and i made a mistake in the title due to the fact that it wasn't were it was described.
IN THIS keep in mind i submit my images because i can, i don't care if they score well and wont ever complain about a score
When I was in school
When i was in high school i was no longer in the band after 3 years on the Cello, 1 Year Trumpet, 1 Year Trombone, and back to a string instrument the violin for another year. After that I had my 12 speaker system, that was my music and everyday after school i sat in the parking lot with my (at the time) Crapolier(Cavalier) with the engine at idle and the trunk open. That supercharger and Borla Stainless exhaust coupled to a pair of 10's in the trunk were all the music i needed.
Both My Cavalier and Paseo have been stolen (Craoplier and Pashiteo respectively). Had i not been a procrastinator maybe i could have called up Jake or someone and shot their car at Arundel or even called Stephanie and shoit her car at eastern tech. I had taken the week off to shoot a car show which happens to fall between the 8-11 every February.
I decided since in 2004 they had a lot of straight setup's id shoot any car that had a system and then pick from the selection. The car's that were there this year were wild as hell. Beyond anything a high school kid could afford or their parents would be willing to pay for. So i shoehorned the best shot in and gave it a title to make the point but i apparently stretched it too far.
Entry and What i probably should have entered under a slightly different title.
Entry and Outtake
Why did I not enter the second shot, because it was a RAW file and i kinda didn't open it!
For me and many people who liked the twist but did not like the image this does meet challenge. DNMC? I think not, Bad Image? Bad Title? Bad Shoehorn? Most Likely! But id like to say sorry for any of you band members that listened to classical on a 2 speaker FM, Or had an 8 track that sounded so horrible they'd rather leave it off. Id also like to say sorry for those of you who didn't have a car in School and had no appreciation for a sound system. I'm also sorry for those of you that think all i listen to is ****** Music. Ill never forget the day that idiot said that to me. Sorry i like bass with my Link Park, I like bass with my Pop music too and even that little bit of late 90's country.
IM ALSO SORRY IF U DID NOT SEE THE THREE 10's TWO 12's and 4 Bass ports!
NOW FOR THE REAL DNMC I SUBMITTED
Just not a DNMC for the reason some of you might have thought
I submitted an animal to Personification II... ON PURPOSE! Guess what Look up personification. My image DNMC but its not because its not inanimate. Its because it was not personifying anything. It was another shoehorn with a stretched title. Look up personification in the dictionary.
Heres whats got most people confused. The Challenge description is broken into two real parts.
1. A SINGLE Definition of Personification
"Personification occurs when inanimate objects are endowed with human qualities or represented as possessing human form or personality."
2. The actual Challenge Description
"Take a photo of something non-human-looking that still shows human characteristics or evokes a human feeling."
THIS DOES NOT IN ANY WAY SAY "SHOOT SOMETHING INANIMATE". It gives a description of personification and then in plain words say "SHOOT SOMETHING NON HUMAN". In some peoples defense the challenge description does not say both NON HUMAN and INAMINATE in the definition. But for those of you that took (in my school 6th grade English) English, you should have at some point covered personification
The image below is not personification BUT HAS NOTHING TO DO with it being an animal! It scored well for an animal in a personification challenge so thanks guys!
I'm submitting an image to Love/Hate that in concept to anyone that doesn't live where I live wont understand the meaning of. AND IM GLAD I'm praying for at least 5 DNMC's so keep the coming!
NOW THE THANK YOU
I don't care if my images turn out well. I'm not an artist im a camera user. I'm glad to hear comments keep them coming just give me more then DNMC. So THANK YOU, I hope you voted a 1, and I hope for every image you feel deserves a 1. You give it what it deserves.
I THINK DNMC IS A GREAT ACRONYM FOR THE UPCOMING CHALLENGE BE PREPARED TO VOTE BADLY FOR ME CAUSE IM DOING THAT ONE ON PURPOSE JUST FOR YOU!

Don't feel to bad, I just received a DNMC in the street challenge that said it could have been a photo from my family scrapbook. Hell it was taken in a third world country, very poor, no real belongings and a shack to live in. I was overseas on this trip so the subject was definately not part of my family tree or anyone else who is here at DPC. I guess my problem was the subject was smiling and looked happy. It amazes me but sometimes poor street people are the happiest. Many use DNMC as an easy comment to just try to piss ya off. Don't let it both you too much.

Don't get yourself too worked up. It was obvious that unless the image had something to do with "band" it was not going to do well. And I think the winning image is an outstanding image and deserves the ribbon; I can't see the "school" aspect in the shot. I myself did not think that would be an issue, but I was wrong. Even though music for me in my school days was listening to rock, especially the electric guitar, it did not go over well with my shot. The majority of the top shots were of traditional band instruments. They are fantastic images, but not everyone remembers music in that sense. Oh well. Life goes on. |
