First, thanks again to Mary (quiet_observation) for posting all of the thumbnails. I don't think she gets enough credit for that tedious chore.

Mary, would it be easier if we emailed you the ID #s, to save you the trouble of going through 35 or so profiles? That'd also get you past hitting profiles for folks who didn't enter.

Second, I'm in Hate. Came up with an idea tonight, shot it, and then sort of stumbled into some heavy editing that turned out a shot I love. It's truly amazing what you can do in Basic Editing.

We'll see what voters think of it.

Ooh, good idea.

Interesting statement. I am very inclined to believe it is an accurate one.

Jeff, you keep odd hours. :-)

I'll add my thanks, too, Mary. Let us know if there's any way we can make your unofficial but very much appreciated duties any easier.

That's what my wife says. :) Basically, my "me" time starts when my wife and daughters go to bed around 10.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a quick response from the SC. I sent 'em my Hate entry just to be sure my editing is legal.

yes, thank you Mary!

I am getting comments about my street entry saying that they understand what I wanted to show there but would do it another way. I made it exactly to express what I wanted to show. I don't think I could have mad it better. if you do it another way it wonæt be the same!
oh well, why is it so difficult to understand others? I am starting not to like the whole idea of this speed voting: 2 secs for an image and done with it. :(

Actually opening/deleting emails is more time consuming then opening a photograph. If someone wants to help, let me know if your thumbnail or a teammates thumbnail is missing.

You hit the nail right on the head. That's why Team Suck is here. They can appreciate your non-common shots that don't cover the tonal range properly.

You're right Svetlana. But if you mention that, the speed voters will tell you that they are so good at it that they don't miss a thing. Check out some of the comments in this thread.

Svetlana, dear, by now you should know that your work is VERY much appreciated by a large number of folks on this site - and apparently by folks elsewhere, given your selection to participate in the gallery in Denver! Fret not the stupid votes in challenges - they mean nothing in the larger scheme of things.

Turn scores off! I tell ya, it really makes life here far less stressful. :-)

ROFL ... THIS is what I responded to THAT thread, just to shut em up!

------------------------------------------------

Personally, I think we should streamline the process and have an option something like this.

Vote for all participants in this challenge:

[1] (default)
[2]
[3]
[4]
[5]
[6]
[7]
[8]
[9]
[10]

Thank you for voting on this challenge.

Bob and Deb,
I am a newcomer of the year in Norway
:)
the norwegian photograph assosiation or whatever it's called has this competition every year.
there are three of us, three prizes, and I don't know yet which one I get. they want to make a kind of an Oscar ceremony and are keeping everything in secret now. so in two weeks:) probably I'll get a lighting kit - the first prize.
whatever I get I am happy
:)
thank you, yes, I do know, and it's great!!

"I am a newcomer of the year in Norway."

Oh HOW appropriate, Svetlana!

I am doing a happy dance for you!
02/20/2007 07:34:55 AM · #764
Way cool, Svetlana! Don't forget to thank Team Suck in your acceptance speech (and hope no one in the audience knows what the heck you're talking about, or they'll take away your prize!)
02/20/2007 07:36:26 AM · #765
hehe:) I will! because you are wonderful!

Hey Deb, I told Svetlana earlier that when she accepts any awards, to tell everyone that she is a member of a group called "Team Suck" and see what their response is.

They would probably say "Well, if that's suck, I'm afraid to see good"!

Hey Svetlana, I'm the old-timer of the year in America! Well, let's just say I'm an old-timer in America. Of course I don't feel too bad because I have nikonjeb and greetmir as fellow old-timers.

It's a dirty job but someone has to be old!

hello suckers, ive had quite the sucky experiece the last couple of days. I was making donuts from Fry Bread i think it was called. one of the donuts popped and hot oil exploded all over my kitchen. burned my head and arm pretty good. Ill never be the same ill tell you that. I was almost afraid to boil water this morning. Anyway wanted to whine a bit and warn anyone who buys and makes donuts out of Fry Bread to be warned to cover them when they are frying.

Wow - sorry to hear that! Are you doing OK now, other than your fear of hot things (which is completely understandable)?

Ouch - sounds like something I should not try at home ever.

I second the ouch. Go get some scar reducer cream!! Oil burns leave nasty scars. I have a few.

Edit: On another note I got a comment today on my "Music" entry from someone who just registered today and has made about 130 comments. The comment simple said "No". Everyone loves a helpful, prolific critic!

i seem to be, im waiting to see a doctor out of town. i have a blister the size of a large walnut on the side of my wrist, looks like it might blister all the way up to my pinky and part of my palm. my face wasnt too bad, blistered a bit right in the middle of my forhead wouldnt you know and they have what looks like big freckles which im hoping with all my might will go away. All in all not as bad as it could have been but not something id wish on my worst enemy.
