Congrats Teresa! I hope to see a score that high some day!

Ok I got a street shot in - I am sure it will not do better than a 5. But I got something in! It has a street! So I should get points for that lol

Got an idea for my HATE shot. Then it's on to find a tree... thank god we have those! lol

Can't wait to see your veggie pics tomorrow!

Good luck everyone!

It's almost 6:00pm and I spent the whole day shooting, but it's just sooo gray here and there is always a dusting of snow coming down or blowing.

I tried a street scene in our little village...it has an old time charm, but it has no punch since there are piles of snow from the plows. My tree shots are no better either - gray sky, white snow and brown, grayish trees and branches.

Thinking of driving to Buffalo and shoot some of the damage from the October storm that wrecked 75 to 80% of the trees. That storm has changed the landscape for genenerations.

I even drove to another village with the same charm and their Main Street is larger with a gazebo in the village square. Their population is greater than my village - but there were no folks on the street.

I am struggling with Love and Hate aside from he obvious takes on either theme.

Ugh! I hope something pops in my head while I sleep tonight.

Do we have our private forum back???

I didn't get out for street shot today. I thought about going down to the mardi-gra but I didn't feel like dealing with all those people downtown in the nasty part of town. I did see a man shoveling snow outside a church but I didn't have my camera with me. We went to see ghost rider and I didn't want to lug the bag around. LOL That'll teach me!

Maybe tomorrow after church I can skulk around. (if I can get my butt out of bed to go to church) Cold weather makes me want to just stay home!

I have an idea for tree but I'm not sure I will be able to find one in time.

Love is going to be full of cheesy valentine images. There are going to be a lot more love than hate. Im thinking about doing another cheesy valentine shot too or I could do food!
The only thing I can think of for hate is shooting the stupid starlings fighting over my bird feeder! I HATE those birds!

for hate - do what i did - just make a list of everything you hate! I hate brussel sprouts. I hate my job. I hate liars. I hate snow. I hate politics. I hate challenges hahahahaah Maybe something will pop up this way?

Are we all in for street and ready for fruit/veggie score?

I had a cool idea for love, but it might be "out of the box" for voters. I still have time though.

i wasn't able to put something together for street... don't worry, i'll be focusing on love/hate. however, i'm going to really try to make both challenges from now on.

Asim, We are rocking. Good to know you are in the mix...LOL. I wonder where everyone is? Long weekend get-a-aways?

I think I entered the streets challenge to see if I could do it. I actually am happy with the pic, but most likely there are going to be a ton of good pics so this will be fare-to-middlin because it at least has a street lol.

I am looking at what I am going to do for the hate challenge - and I am thinking that I hope the team does not have high expectations for me this week! lol

Good luck to all!

Deb - your sig is cute!
02/18/2007 10:53:56 PM · #263
My sig is true to our team spirit, don't ya think? I've been fiddling and the double gif got annoying - at least now I send a message.

Just a half hour before sunset I drove through the deserted downtown Lakewood, it was too late to go to downtown Cleveland. Besides Saturday afternoon would 've been better.

I was ready to put my camera on the tripod and jump in front of it myself with my hood and balaclava, shaking a fist at the photographer. Then I had a quick idea and got a relative to pose. Who said street photography can't be staged. I just hope it isn't too, obvious.

It was quite a toss of dice between two possible shots. Anyways I decided to not desaturate to grey-scale, black-n-White style used during the Bresson era.

I didn't make it for the street. 8(
I wanted to have a shot for every challenge. Oh well.
Life gets in the way sometimes.

Week 2 is SUCKING for me. My fruit shot tanked! 289th! I think music will be my personal worst!
Congrats Asim for 27th! I knew it was yours the min I seen it.
Good job!

My studio is totally dis-assembled for moving it downstairs. Unfortunately the room downstairs isn't ready for it, so Im stuck without it. The kitchen is just to crowded with it there. I would like to get my family in the habit of eating at the table again. LOL

Im really starting to panic about the wedding coming up June 2nd.

Hey
Asim - congratulations!
I am pleased that my shot was able to hang on to the 5 - I felt it slipping away. All-in-all, I think I am learning at an alarming rate (LOL)- Already I see the flaws in my street entry - and the first comment confirmed it.

I have been trying to get better with CS2 and getting away from Elements. Check out my re-do's in my portfolio and let me know if I am getting the hang of things.

...and where is the bucket in CS2? I have a bucket in Elements.

In CS the bucket is in the flyout with the gradient tool.
a flyout (in case your wondering) is the icons with the black arrow in the corner. you hold the button and several other options open up for that particular button.

My Street Photography Challenge entry is just average so far, but not too bad, had 9 great comments (should be higher).

02/19/2007 09:27:08 PM · #272
I never used google talk, but my e-mail is gmail. deborah.sterner at gmail. Can you explain google talk?

Msn has this really cool photo swap option that allows you to share pics. It reduces the image sizes and doesn't save to the recievers hd unless they choose the save option. Even then its so reduced (more than the one you upload) Might be something you want to check into.
