It wasn't a "day, it was a bit less than an hour over breakfast in a local hole-in-the-wall fisherman's cafe called "Larry's PX" (which I am a frequenter of) and chatting outside under lowering skies as the current snow squall began and sputtered out ineffectually.
Chess was never discussed... Dang... I forgot. And yes, I saw the Jack Nicholson thing too :-)

That's excellent that you and  Whiterook has a meetup! What I want to see his his photo of you! Whiterook, if you are reading this thread, and took a photo of Bear_Music, please don't hold out on us!

Here's a reprocessing of the earlier posted headshot, using CS2's "apply image" command to apply the red channel as a new layer in the composite, set to multiply mode. Area within the glasses erased to show underlying layer.

And HERE is a composite of the camera image and the headshot, experimenting with "apply image" using 2 different shots for the merge. Dang, theres a LOT of interesting potential here :-)

wow, apply image is one of those buttons I've never clicked. I just had a play with it on some wedding photos from the weekend and I really like the effect it has, especially the red channel/multiply thing.
I'm going to make it into an action and add it to my standard bag of tricks. I love this site.
