Last night I went to a dance with my mom and friends. The band gave me permission to take pictures but the owner of the place did not want me to use a flash. How bad is this picture and what setting would you guys have used.

Thanks Jeremy

Just posted a few more to look at.

1/5 second handheld? I'm impressed! :-)

Without flash or more light, there's not much you are going to be able to do to "improve" this. But, I think you did a pretty damn good job.

Sounds like you did what you could under the circumstances.

Your handicapped from low light.

I am not familier with your camera, but the fastest lens you have would of came into play. Wide open.

Besides a little blurring, not too bad a shot.

not sure if you tried it or not, but in really low light like that I'll often burst 5 or 6 pictures in a row (just hold the shutter down and let it go). 4 or 5 may end up blurry, but one of them is bound to be sharp - then delete the rest and pretend they never happened ;)
