This was quite an interesting experience!
Although my shot got worse scores than I thought it would get, I can live with it. I'm just wondering if it was the religious undertone that bothered people or if they just plain didn't like the composition? Or maybe a lot didn't get that the light behind my head was supposed to be a halo! ;)
And there are some amazing pictures in the contests here in general. Although in this contest my personal Top 10 looked rather differently, hehe.
Well anyway, this contest thing is fun! See you around.

I didn't make it to vote on your shot, but I think the focus is good. I know you need them to see, but the shot is lead to think that you're not wearing clothes, but yet you're wearing your glasses. That looks strange to me. Also, your hands are tilted to the left which doesn't bother me quite as much as a tilted horizon, but does have some effect. I might not have put two and two together to figure out the light was meant as a halo. I do wish there were more light ON your face though, as the right side (your left) is a little dark. Overall though, it's a nice shot. Nice to meet you. ~Heather~ |

Nice to meet you too! And thank you for your comment. I really appreciated it, it's the only way you can improve: by learning from 'mistakes'. And I have to agree that there are things that don't work like they should (tilted hands, dark face, etc) But it was already a pain to do this self-shot, hehe. The glasses didn't bother me though on the pic. A matter of taste I guess.
Liked your shot too. Gave it a 7. By the way, I think your "7 deadly sins" shot is awesome!

I gave it my 'decent shot at the theme, technically no glaring errors, but nothing particularly interesting about it' score (which is 5). :-> I think it might have been a bit better if you hadn't looked cold/nervous/tense-as-all-hell, expressionwise.
