is it possible at all, since I understand that the fields of each EXIF depends on the camera? But it'd be convenient if it is implemented. |

it is possible ... many photography sites that are written in php already have this function.
i don't know the php specifics, but i don't think it would be too difficult.

This is indeed the major problem with coding this. Since we only currently list three characteristics of the shot (ISO, Speed, fStop) I'm not sure it's worth the effort when there are many other "projects" which need coding attention ... but oherwise, I agree it's a good idea. |

A lot of people use "Save for web" which strips EXIF. I do not but many do.

I think this is intended to apply to non-entry portfolio images, where you are not limited as to image-size and "Save For Web" is not so important. AFAIK challenge entries are all currently stripped of EXIF data anyway. |

Actually, I've noticed that during the challenge the EXIF data is hidden but after voting is over it shows up. For my January Freestudy and Wildlife III entries I didn't use sfw and the exif data shows now (under properties on the right click menu).

Maybe that's new ... good to know : )
I use an older version of Photoshop (5.0), and I check the box to "Omit non-Image Data" in the SaveAs dialog to make the file smaller, so I hadn't noticed any change. |

thanks for all the replies
i just think it might be useful for interested people in a photo, to understand what sort of settings was used to make the picture.
i'm one of those who are (guilty) lazy to read the EXIF data and then manually key-in all the fields for the photo information on this site :p |
