WHEW!!! What a day!
So....I'm all dug out.....Jaws ate a big rock right at the very and snapped something somewhere.....no biggie, I'll sort it out, no doubt.
It held up long enough to do my driveway, my walk, the ton of snow the plow truck dumped across the top of my driveway and in front of the mailbox, and the enough of the neighbor's driveway that her husband can get in when he gets home from the airport tonight.
And dug out the little blue car!
The other neighbor's snowblower broke, another's plow tractor wouldn't start, another couldn't get his car up the driveway and then the winch cable snapped on his tow vehicle.....what a day here up on top of the mountain! I fared very well!
HOWEVER!!!!
It wqas sooooooo nice to come in and warm up here and there and read all the nice comments y'all wrote and to hear how life was today from your necks of the woods.
I'll get a chance to get back on it tomorrow and comment on y'all's stuff, thanks ever so much for adding so much fun to a wild winter day!

We had a pretty fierce storm yesterday, which kept me from getting any new pictures.

Day 14: Tree Tunnel
For everyone shooting various snow scenes, it's very easy to end up with gray snow. Try adjusting the exposure to +1 or even higher. This was shot with +1.
It's also easy to lose contrast. I've posted my original and the curve I used to adjust this for those trying to learn how to use curves.

I've not participated in one of these 30-day projects before. What are the rules? May I join in now? I live in a beautiful place, nature-wise, and would love to share it, here, and if anyone happens to be visiting the area, maybe a tour guide of sorts. :) Well here's what I was doing the last couple days:
the 13th a nice sunset at Shell Beach
the 14th my friend Jack flying the beach south of Morro Rock |

This is from the other evening when it wasn't raining and we had a bit of light left to the day. We have a gorgeous day today! I'm going to try to sneak out of work early and see if I can get a few more shots to share! |

Day 15 Springfield, Mo
I know this is another building shot. Seems i am in a building phase or something. Maybe when it warms up and we get some flowers and green leaves i will quit the building. I missed the Sweet lite by about 10 minutes but i saw it while stuck in traffic at a busy intersecion. This is a neat old church that is in an industrial area now. i left all that in so you could see how the area really looks. if you see some shake in it thats because it was 12 degrees F . I know that is not cold to are friends up north, but to us old southern missouri hillbillies in thin slacks its cold.

For those interested, there's a funny story as to why I didn't make it into my little town this evening to take some more shots. It's over in the Team Suck Headquarters thread. And yes, you're allowed to laugh and poke fun if you wish. :-)
And thanks very kindly to all who've commented - it really isn't necessary but I do appreciate it! |
