I don't know! Saw in a different thread that people were saying it is NOT down but someone else needs to take over? No idea. To me, based on SouthernGentlman's post, I would say it is over.

Congratulations Tlemtry. I asked my wife for a suggeestion of bad and that's exactly, th one and only thing she said, "Smoking". I wooulkd never have gotten such a clever idea as to putting cigarettes in chain links. I did think of chaining them by one lighting another.
"Chain Smoking", by Tlemetry, 15th, average vote of 6.3135
BTW, I must be a crazy masochist, naw, I'm not. I just volunteered to take the "Helm" of WPL if approved by all.

Are you NUTS??? lol That is going to take a lot of work.
Sorry, I had to say it! I will be glad if you get the opportunity to keep it going.
I tend to volunteer myself for things for the good of all and over extending my abilities. I'm sure your capable of handling it all.
I guess I will wait and see whats going to happen.
If it wasn't for the WPL I wouldn't have entered the music challenge with that crappy shot! LOL Keep us posted.

No, I'm not nuts. I also intend to automate it a little at a time. It is very feasible. |

For what it's worth, I really enjoyed being a team member of Motley Crew. In the short time I was involved with this, I have gained so much. I hope John can join with Scott to keep it going. Many thanks to all of you that helped me along the way.

Deb - I don't think there's any reason for us to stop doing what we're doing. Sure the scores won't be posted. But we can still be competitive amongst ourselves and keep pushing each other to get better with each shot. There are some talented people in our group, and we can all learn from one another.
I don't think it's time to disband. Let's give John and the others some time to work things out, and keep shooting!

It can be retroactively updated at a late date.
WEEK - 3
Member Challenge: Street Photography
Exclusive Open Challenge: Love II
Exclusive Open Challenge: Hate
I think that some way it will continue, with or without my help.
Baco99, that is the exact reason that I joined, to get the benefit of an added incentive by being responsible to the team members. It also bring a member interaction on a more personal level, in the way of tutoring and sometimes just "talking". Also creates team spirit because of competition between the groups. It satisfies the human need of belonging if such a thing exists. There are even more benefits, but it is and should not be suitable for everyone.
WPL-4, MOTLEY CREW, TEAM CAPTAIN |
Originally posted by jenesis: Metatate, are you suggesting that the captains figure their scores for the week and report to someone who can post them somewhere? Perhaps we can start a makeshift thread here for the time being. The schedule is already set, so we won't need to worry about that until it gets closer to playoffs.
I'm up for this if the other captains are, at least to keep this season alive until something solid is set-up. |

How does shooting for WPL differ from just entering?
Do you simply mean you're committed to entering every challenge? |
No, it doesn't differ from just entering. I just mean that team members shouldn't quit or abandon their teams, this seems more like just a temporary pause in the Team Tracking System. I can write a beta-version of a working Team Tracking System this weekend. I don't want to take anyone else's pet or reduce their involvement, without their consent.
Yes I'm committed to entering every challenge either way, it's just more fun being on a team. I mentioned some reasons already.

If you want to start a temporary thread, go for it Metatate.
If its formatted uniformly, I can extract the data, calculate, and create a web page from it.
Format example below, spelling and single-spaces count.
WEEK NUMBER: WEEK 1
TEAM NAME: d-Best
MEMBER-1: yadda 4.7815
MEMBER-2: dabba 4.7815
MEMBER-3: abba 4.7815
MEMBER-4: whome 4.7815
MEMBER-5: yesu 4.7815

Ok I was looking at others team scores so I was going nuts wondering what ours was. So I had to calculate it lol.
If I did this right - our team averaged a 6.003625
YOU GUYS ROCK! This is AWESOME! I think this is a great way to start off the tourney!
I have no idea how this compares to the other team - but who cares! Whoo hoo!

Member name, not link.
Include WEEK NUMBER:
Include TEAM NAME:
Any-comments to the right of the score will be ignored.
FORMAT should look exactly like above,
to make data extraction less painful.
I will create a web page this Saturday.
Data will be extracted by software-program and Averages will be also be calculated, and rounded up to 4 decimal places. Then web page will be created by this software, too. I will start to write it and accumulate the data this evening, to be completed by this Saturday.
In another version, if needed, I can have the software go directly to the members' Profile and extract the Challenge Average using the person's ID #. That's the number that you see when you mouseover a user's name-link.
I have already started to do that for the FSM (Free Study Marathon), just for fun.
All results will be marked as "Pending" and "Finalized".
Each team can verify the results of their opponent, just to double check things and to meet their approval. |
Put it in this location: WPL temporary thread to appease WPL addicts |

Hey Deb! I received a comment from you too on my veggie pic and I thought you made some incredibly good points. You brought to my attention something that I did not really notice. It was great - thanks!

i'm at 6.26 in fruits and veggies... i hope this holds... it would be my first '6,' and would be a personal best by about 0.5!
unfortunately i'm having a mental block on street photo and love/hate :-( |

This weekend I'll just have to try harder to find some street people.
I'm not going to photograph hookers. I'll probably go with the more busy on "Love", or possibly "Hate".
I'm also going to write some custom software this Saturday, for Scott to use temporarily, just because I know how and have already started it.

Go asim, Go! Whoo I hope your's finishes higher!
For some reason, my fruits and veggies has been slowly climbing, 5.58, and my biology is slowly sinking, 5.89. I liked my biology better and had higher expectations for that one lol.
Not sure if I am gonna enter anything for street. And I am going for the HATE challenge - decided to go abstract.

Hi guys!
I'm still at work and I thought I'd check to see if we had any activity here. Glad we are! Just tipped into 5's @ 5.0312 with my veggie, I need to develop some patience and take more shots. My Biology ...to my surprise - 4, but it bounces back and forth from 3's. I got a bunch of 1's...but the concept is really caring this one - even I know how technically bad it really is ;)
Trees here are brown sticks coming up through the snow, but I have a park nearby that looks over Lake Erie - I have one tree in mind.
Love/Hate - still deciding |
