We just finished plowing for the second time...couldn't get out of driveway this morning, snow at the mouth of the driveway was over the hood of my Escape! Good day to stay IN!

We are just getting freezing rain and sleet - U G L Y. The freezing rain isn't even sticking to the trees in a nice and photogenic way... bummer. |

NOOOO! Another snow day today and with so many already, because of our October storm, we will have to make up the days by eliminating vacation days from Spring break or the end of the school year.

I've plowed once and shoveled twice already arghhh! Nearly a foot of snow so far and expecting 1" to 3"/hr for the evening hours. The total forecast is for 15" to 30" here in central NH.
Actually I'm not really complaining it's been a while since we've had a good storm like this and the winter has been pretty mild. It could be worse. We could live in Oswego County, NY. They had 10+ feet of lake effect snow last week.

Are you far enough from the lakes to miss the snow last week? |

Well, I got up at 5am and started driving my bus. I picked up five passengers and got almost to the first drop-off location when my boss called and told me to turn around and go home for the day they were cancelling the bus service. One of my passengers still wanted to go to work, so I took him. He knew that he was going to have to find his own way home. The rest of my passengers where more than happy to go home again. Usually I drive that road between 50-60mph, today I never got above 40mph.
Once home I went to bed for a while. Then went on a fire call. Came home and used the snowblower until it got overloaded and just wouldn't move the snow anymore.
I'm about to go get my daughter from daycare (she didn't want to come home when I did). I'll probably snowblow again when I get back.
As for having fun??? No, but I'm not upset either. I just wish we were getting the nice big fluffy snow, not this ice crystal snow. *sigh*. |

Tokyo hasn't had any snow this winter at all (so far). The last time there was a completely snowless winter was in 1875. It's been 3 or 4 degrees Celcius warmer than normal. |

We have about 2 feet in the back yard, besides the back breaking shoveling, had a blast playing with my girls, havent jumped in the snow drifts in a long time. It good to be a kid now and then.

Yeah, this wasn't cool. They closed university here, but I already had the day off. So in addition to my classwork, I spent two hours this morning clearing snow, and I'll probably have to go back out soon to do it again. Day off + snowday = extra work? That's not fair!
