| Can anyone tell me how to set color space in iPhoto? (or if it's even possible?) I have a friend that asked me, and I'm not familiar with the program... |

I don't think you can. iPhoto is a photo storage app with some basic editing.
I use iPhoto for sorting, albums, book printing, etc. I have it configure to launch PhotoHsop when double clicking an image in iPhoto for serious editing.
You can set the launch app to any ap on your Mac.

| More than likely, iPhoto uses whatever color space you have set in your Monitor preferences. |

Ok, thanks guys.
Since that's not going to work, does anyone know of a free program that works in color spaces? |

GIMP, maybe.
It's free and there's an OSX install package for it. Try Googling GIMP OS X.

I tried GIMP for OSX. It was not good at all. Unless they've changed it, it won't run in aqua, the desktop environment that you probably think of when you think of OSX. You will need to install X11 and run it in a different environment. It was a real PITA.

I've heard that, too. But it was the only free option I can think of.
For <$100, you can get Adobe Photo Elements. I believe it has Color Space settings.

It does, as long as you don't want CMYK.

| No, she doesn't need CMYK, just the ability to move between Adobe and sRGB. |

under iphoto preferneces under 'advanced' there is a setting that imports to color sync with however the camera is set.
I suspect having that checked will do it.
you can do some 'tint' adjusting within the appication if that is what she is after?
if she is doing that advanced of stuff she should be using PS |

| No, for some reason she likes to shoot in Adobe, but she's frustrated about the color representation she gets on the web... |

| Try Graphic Converter. It may already be pre-installed on your Mac. |
