so tonight we had a going away party for my friends who are moving. they wanted to go see drag queens.
this one drag queen came out with a GIANT afro on and sang the theme to "car wash." but she had a piece of shiny paper stuck in the back of her wig and it was really distracting when it caught the light.
so when she was working the crowd for tips and came by our table i stood up. she presented and said "oh you're one of those who wants to tuck it." and i said "no, i'm gonna turn you around and get this confetti out of your hair" which i did, to hoots and hollers and applause.
she whirled back around and smiled sweetly and said "girl, ALL my bushes have confetti stuck in them!"
lol. i just had to share. now i have to go wipe the industrial-strength lipstick off of my cheek. :) |

That is REALLY good!! Way to think on her feet!
Wanna hear my funny drag queen story??
I went to a drag queen show one night and a queen named "Tonya" was doing her little act... I was not paying attention until, LO! I felt a hand in my crotch! I sat BOLT upright and the queen just danced away and gave me a demure smile...
Later, I find out she told my friend I had a small (trying to be clean here) manly organ!!

Hey, maybe you can work an explanation of why it was small into a shot for the biology challenge. ;)

Me too! The original, anyway, not so much the remake, though I did like Nathan Lane in that one a lot.
All this talk of drag queens reminds me of a true story of when the liner "France" was outbound and passed "Queen Mary" inbound on her last voyage before decommissioning. Using the light signals to speak each other, they spoke as follows:
QM, to France: "You are a great and gracious lady."
France, to QM: "But you will always be a queen."
Ah, we'll never see days like that again.
So, TC, I don't care what others say: to me, you will always be a queen!

I know the mathmatical equation of gay years to straight years in a relationship. First time I heard it I laughed so hard I almost turned gay

First 3 years of gay relationship = 3 years for each year of a straight relationship.
year 4 and 5 of gay relationship = 2 years for a straight relationship.
at the 5 yeat mark, it all evens out - each year = the same time in each
example: a ten year relationship of a gay relationship = 18 years by straight standard LOL

Sheesh... "Queen" as in regal, "queen" as in special, "queen" as in the original meaning of the word before those strange people stole it from us :-) Hell, I can remember when if you said someone was being "gay" you meant they were being exuberant...

That reminds me of "Yiddish with Dick and Jane," which is a bitingly funny book about what happens when the kids grew up. Their inanely positive, naive outlook remains intact. However, their other sister moves to Berkeley and knows what's what.
There's a great section where they see two men hugging outside a house for sale. Dick and Jane reason that one of them is a real estate agent and the other is a seller who's very pleased.
Their sister tries to explain what's really going on, and says they're gay. Jane replies "He's more than gay, he's positively ecstatic!"

during the show last night we were debating what our drag names would be if we got up there (which...uh uh).
fella's was "princess tucknstuff"
my friend lori wants to be "eureka upright"
my friend christy wants to be "bara cooter"
i couldn't come up with a very good one. there was "holly yoolah", but...meh. if i do the drag queen name calculator method, mine would be "peaches riviera." i really can't come up with anything better than that. :) |

Last time I was at a drag show I ended up onstage wearing a feather Boa singing "I Will Survive". thank goodness there are no pictures.
My drag name would most certainly be Tess Tickles.
