My father ran across this photo and likes it very much. Knowing I am into photography he asked if I could find out who the photographer is.

So, I'm putting it out here in hopes someone will point me in the right direction.

:)

Not having run across this image before I'd be hard pressed to try and find it.

Where did your father see it? Any hints?

No clue...

Sorry, Saj. Never seen it before.

Really could be by anyone. There are no features or obvious "style" that I can pin down to even make a guess.

I would make a guess based on the clothing that it was shot in the 50's though.

Where did you get the photograph from?

Google railroad photos, railroad tunnel photos. I got this site, but look around much... //www.railpictures.net/

Amazing. That's a shot I took of my wife in 1971 :-)

Found THIS site.... The March photo looks similar?

I'll keep looking around.

Also, THIS site has a picture that looks similar as well. (scroll through them, it's about halfway down the page).

Thanks Magenmarie,

I forwarded the links to my father. Not sure if it's the same artist.
(ie: this points to another flaw IMHO of copyrights, even if you want to license an image it can be nigh impossible to find the owner of said image)

Can't be this spot - two tracks in the tunnel pic. The pic he is looking for only has one track and it is obviously unused.

True, but it did have a similar style...perhaps it'll lead somewhere.

Sorry to butt in, but Bear's reply here doesn't really sound like a joke, unless I'm missing something... Maybe you should PM him...
Just a thought.

I thought the :-) inclined it to be a joke.

Hey Bear, can you chime in on this one?

If it is true...That would be the coolest thing! It does sound improbable though... Let us know.
