Heyhey.. now once again I need your help. My sister is going to the staits and has offerd to buy some thing for my camera wile out ther.

I really really need to improve my lighting and I was thinkin if there was anyone here that could take a look at my profil and tell me what kind og flash you think would be good for me. Something that makes a difference. So if there is someone who is willing to think this over with me I would be very greatfull :)

are you looking for a "cobra flash" (ie that you put on your camera) or a more studio-like set-up?

IMHO Only one place to look and that would be at the Canon 580EX or the SIgma 500DG super. IMHO the 580 is better but costs more. If $$$ is a concern get the sigma. Either way you go get a Gary Fong Lightsphere. Then you will be ready to go.

Personnaly I bought the 430EX from canon, cheaper than the 580EX and does everything I want (but I'm just a beginner, so not that demanding). With the difference i'd buy a canon ST-E2 transmitter that allows you to start you flash remotely.

I'd also buy
1/ a small diffuser. to put on the flash when it's on the camera. Note that there are tons of such diffusers, but a study I saw once proved that they all result in similar effect, so the smaller (and cheaper), the better ie the stofen omnibounce //www.stofen.com/

2/ a cheap soft box ($50) that can be adjusted to your flash off-camera. Great to improve your portrait lighting at a reduced cost. //www.photax.se/kmrt/kblixtar/tristarsoftbox/tristarsoftbox.htm

Canon 430EX or 580EX - whichever your budget will support. I purchased the 430EX first and was very happy with it. Later, when I wanted to purchase a second strobe, I purchased the 580. Now I can place the 430EX on a stand and I place the 580 on the camera (actually on a camera bracket) and I can fire both at once. The 580 can remotely trigger the 430EX.
