I have a whole bunch of actions i recorded in photoshop cs2. does anyone know if i can copy them somehow to ps3? i've tried opening ps2 to copy them and it just defaults to 3. i've loaded the ones i downloaded, but the ones i recorded seem to be gone. please don't tell me i have to re-record them all again...

From what I know, all you have to do is copy them to the location expected by CS3 then load them.

What comes up when you search for all files with the extension 'atn'?

What probably happened when you upgraded was that the presets folder got overwritten since it's part of the PS configuration.

CS3 should get installed in it's own folder, so, assuming you're working on a PC:
- Close CS3
- Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\
- You should see both CS2 and CS3 folders
- Open the Photoshop CS2 folder
- Hit CTRL+F and search for *.atn
The above should return all files with the .atn extension in the CS2 folder. Copy the ones you need to the same subfolder of the CS3 directory tree. Now restart CS3 and they should load.

no, sad, i guess i'll have to re-record. bummer.

i must say, though, it's a hell of a lot faster...
