for individual prints that you have matted, what is your order of materials ?
matte board, (2nd matte), image , ? ....
do you double sided tape or adhesive transfer tape betwen the matte & backing ?
do you use foam core as a backing material or matte board ?
just thinking about the process ..
edit for puct. & spelllling

I'd like to know this too. I have some faom core frames ( backing board and matting are foam core). I have just placed the prints inside as each frame has it's own display bag that holds it all togather. Should I be taping them? |

they are only floating free ? (presume that you have attached you image to the matte via tape hinges )
currently i've been using 'discard' matte board for backing within the frames but more curious about without frame options ..
anybody ?

I too use discards as backing on smaller prints. For larger prints I use foam core. The prints are hinged with tape. For the front, I use a single white mat. Right now I'm keeping it simple since I'm still fairly new at selling images. I also don't have a mat cutter so it makes it difficult to get colored mats pre-cut that will actually work well with an image...there are so many shades. Eventually, I may get my own mat cutter.

Use linen tape. Hinge at the top only and make sure your materials and process are archival.
Why?
YOU may not care if your artwork self destructs prematurely, but, I bet your customer will.
