Well... now that the deliberations are over, and we have a great new group of SC members.. the ultimate question is still left unanswered:
If you applied, did *you* act any differently while the decisions were being made? Did you change your attitudes.. did you do anything you wouldn't normally do? Did you try harder.. not hard enough.. too hard?
Let's have some personal stories about what you may or may not have done out of the "spirit" of the moment.
I'll start it off.
What did I do differently? Well, I became a little more active on the forums than I had been before. Not in any obvious "Trying to get on SC" way, but just .. on a subconcious level.. to get my name more visible for a little while. I was still *me* however. Not one to shy away from the controversial. heh. I didn't really do too much else though. I really didn't think I had a chance from the beginning. My history with this website is far too chaotic.. but I really enjoyed even being considered. You can be sure I'll be in for the next round too.. but don't expect me to be any different between now and then either ;)
So let's have it.. give us your story.
I'm hoping it's more exciting than mine.

I am what I am and that is usually obnoxious, poking my nose in everything, jacking threads, helping out,
commenting here & there, you know, just being me.

Nup...I was just me. I don't need to be anything different...if people don't know me by now as I am...then that is their problem. Why should I act differently just to make myself look good or bad or whatever is needed. As far as I am concerned decisions like this are made on general behaviour over a long period of time...not over a few days.
With that being said I did notice a big change in behaviour in the forums...and while I felt it was wrong I also accept that it is just human nature. |

Hey.. I'm just trying to have a little fun with the whole thing here. I'm not calling anyone out.. just wondering if you have any stories to share.. if you found yourself doing something you wouldn't otherwise do and want o have a little laugh at yourself and share it.
If nobody cares to, the thread dies, no harm done.
It's not about who did or didn't apply in any way.

Well for all the good it did, I kissed babies, made promises I couldn't keep, dug up dirt and spread propaganda about the other applicants, wined & dined a few key council members and had sex with a few others.
I think it was the sex that did me in. ;-P |

I hear everyone on Site Council (and everyone who applied) wears pocket protectors, button their shirts right to the top, have pants that are too short, and are all virgins.
I don't button my shirt all the way up, so I didn't apply.
