Greetings,
An oddity of sorts has come up anytime I go into My Preferences to change something.
The text field for the Password change is filled in automatically upon entering My Preferences (never look there and miss it) and after making whatever changes on my settings, like Bio, or specific settings, hit Save, and keep getting a pop up about the password doesn't match. When I hit Save, the system is looking for the re-typed password to match what was auto-populated initially going into My Preferences, and being as I never typed in the password to begin with, never saw it scrolling down. I tried refreshing the page to no avail, and the cache was dumped too. If changes are made low on the page and the change password is off the screen, the pop up won't allow scrolling back up, and the page won't accept changes, and makes it hard to figure out and get past, but now that I know what is happening, I make whatever changes I was doing, then scroll up and wipe the change password ******** out and then can scroll back down and hit save and can continue on, and now I'm wondering if this is the longest sentence I've ever written on a computer or otherwise and need to stop now and take a breath.

:D

I think it's Firefox auto-populating the field. It's been happening to me for a while.

Yeah, happens to me too. If you have firefox log the password for the site, it applies it when you view your preferences page, which then causes the page to think you want to change it. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like you can delete it without removing it from everywhere.

This can probably be fixed server-side by renaming the fields. I'll call it to Langdon's attention.

This has been fixed. The problem is that the form fields were called PASSWORD and PASSWORD verify.

If you save your password for a site, any time Firefox sees a form field on that site with a type of password (one that displays stars) that is named PASSWORD, it fills it in. The fields on the Preferences page were called PASSWORD and PASSWORD_VERIFY.

Langdon renamed them to NEW_PASSWORD and NEW_PASSWORD_VERIFY, and Firefox no longer tries to populate them.

I wasnt going to say anything untill I saw this thread, but I had issues in my preferences trying to change my portfolio image. the new image uploaded and was showing as "current" image but when I looked at my profile the old image was still there. I logged on and off several times and I was random as to which image would be shown but in my preferences the new image was always shown as current. This happened for a couple of days but now seens to be in order.
Nothing major but just to let it be known.

This is usually Cache/Temporary Files. This happens on MySpace all the time. Try Deleting your cache or temp files or whatever it doesnt always but on most sites itll stop this.

Thanks Terry, and thank you Langdon, for taking the time to resolve such a small bug, but a frustrating one.
