Bah. Poetry doesn't have to have rhyme or meter ;-)

I just turned scores back on for Free Study... so my FTF is at a 3.9? Haha. I knew I'd be getting the brown though. I'm SO happy about the image that I got.. well actually the one that I got before I had to edit more and yeah. *rambleramble*

Yeep! I think I just figured out what is probably causing my burnout!

I have moved, and since I did so I haven't been outside to walk really. When I was at home I used to just grab the camera and go outside and see what I could find. Here most of the photography stuff I do is online / challenge-related.

SO now that I know what it's from I can work on fixing it. :-D

That sounds like the first step to me. Find somewhere impressive and get shooting. Then maybe I'll take my own advice ... ;)

Yeah... Unfortunately, I have moved my very-not-tolerant-of-the-cold self from Richmond, Virginia to Calgary, Alberta. Burrrrr. I've only gone for a walk once the whole month. Ugh.

The good thing is that finally convincing myself to go outside will be neat, as it's suburban here - I'm used to rural, so it'll open up some new shooting opportunities for me.

Dress warm, take extra batt'ries if you got 'em (and keep 'em in a pocket) and go out there and enjoy!! And don't forget to share what you get with the rest of us, too.

Dress warm. Yeah. I have been known to wear four pairs of pants and seven layers of shirts/sweaters before. Not counting coat. And two hats. And two scarves.

But I think that actually now I have developed a way of dressing (scarf under turtleneck, ear warmers under hat) that is at least a little better. At least it was when I went for that first walk. And it won't get me through the harsh Canadian winter but it'll at least get me through the milder Canadian winter I think. All I need now is some confidence. I've spent way too long in pain after being cold to do this type of thing lightly.

Thanks for the batteries in the pocket tip!
Whenever I go out (I just typed that as "gout"...) I definitely will share :-)

edit: And by "milder Canadian winter" I think I mean "mildest". .. and I am thinking about moving here full-time... aie. :-)

edit again: I ramble. I need sleep. Sorries :-)

I've been so cold during winter hiking/shooting, I'm looking into buying some battery-warmed gloves and socks! Ebay has some decent prices. Enjoy your walking :)

I just noticed that I'm in 5 challenges and all of them are taken within 20 feet of where I'm sitting. Oops.
02/01/2007 06:14:52 AM · #2162
Battery warmed clothes? I have been wanting stuff like that but I didn't know it existed!
02/01/2007 06:17:37 AM · #2163
They have those nifty chemical hand and foot warmers, too. I use 'em for cold weather golf. You open them up and expose them to air and they heat up. They can get downright toasty, too! You can find them at sporting goods stores or places that sell hunting and camping equipment. Highly recommend 'em!

Oh, and I'm in four challenges at the moment - two taken at home, two taken out and about.

I forgot to pull my FS entry before I went to bed last night, and ouch, I've already got two comments referring to my terrible pp (and it is). I really don't know what happened. It looked fine in photoshop. I'm going to pull it (self DQ). Not because of the score (currently at 3.5, but because I hate the way it looks and it's not what I intended). Anyone remember how?

Send a note to the SC - under Help, Contact Us. And remember that it'll count as a DQ but won't show in your profile. Sorry to hear it didn't work out - hopefully you can work it again and stick it in your portfolio so we can see it at some point!

oh, we are back :)
spasibo, spasibo!!
and huge comgrats to Deb!!!

but that was indeed "momentary" and very temporary lack of suckage for me.
now things are back to normal: my table shot is at 4.7 and keeps falling down:)

of course I will comment everything! I am stringing tennis rackets all the time these days and it would be great with something less prosaic and more aesthetical. I am looking forward to it
:)
have a really beautiful day dear eveyone!

Done and will do! I really wanted to get it re edited last night but I got home so late. By the time I made dinner and washed dishes and gave my son a bath I had to fall into bed. LOL.

edit to add: Sorry OOFer's, this means I have zero entries for this week.

Don't worry about it Kelli, I now you'll eventually be back.

With you and Darren last week we were able to place and quite highly I might add. In the free study there might be other OOF'ers submitting.

So many entries in those two. It is just a chore voting on them.
