I signed in to Southern Gentleman's new/temporay web-Forum, just to get the "official" WPL-4 info. This forum is okay by me for comunication. Anything that we don't want other teams to see, we can just broadcast emails. I can do that mostly in the evenings.
Before this Wednesday or sooner, I'll get some sample Players' cards and logos. I'm glad so see such enthusiasm here, I hope it continues all the way, no matter what. I'll skip last-Tuesdays, challenge for this, it was only a pre-season one.
My Minimalism II, is still holding up, after more votes: Votes: 121, Views: 176, Avg Vote: 5.7273 I've been thrilled to get a 9 from a member who's a professional journalist.
Yes, I've bought two fake rocks, the ones for hiding keys under, then bolted them together,(Superstitions & Urban Legends II) Here is the last one Personification 1 The top 10 didn't have any added props such as rocks with pipe cleaner feet. So far, I'm thinking more of bottles and cans. Women have lots of Pots-n-Pans/Utensils, that talk, take them to the beach. At the beaches around here they would be making frozen foods. No more public ideas.

We've been really quiet as a team???
in any case, I can only assume we are all planning out photos and practicing. Of course, given my online graduate work I am always online, so maybe its just me who notices.
FYI - since my first entry my scores get better each time! Yay!

While the post didn't quit show the snow fall and some thought the entry was a bit of a stretch, I have to admit voters wouldn't understand the title attached to the image - but still most comments are kind and informative.
I have a wicked head cold and I am forcing myself to go outside and practice various settings hoping to get the germs frightened of the cold weather and move elsewhere. I think I am on faster recovery - go figure...
Trust that I have working hard to not let the team down.

I did not vote in Entrance so I look forward to seeing what yours looks like. My entrance is hovering a smidge above 5.0 and I am waiting for that one to be over. EVEN THO I LOOOOOOVED my entrance one. Just something you get or you don't - and that is ok.
So what else is everyone doing??? This must be the working man's team since no one is chatting.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the minimalsm finishes up. I have my PB in there and will say nothing else for fear of jinxing it!
I'm wishing now that I had done a Table shot since there are sooooooo many entries in the Shallow DOF. I bet people don't like what i did for DOF because it is "different". I used "creativity". hahaha
So what the heck are you guys doing? How is personification going for everyone? Good luck and have fun!

I'm usually here all day but been sick.
I missed the nude shot. not to upset about it either. LOL
I will save my idea for the next time it comes around. I did enter in shallow dof and the freestudy. |

| I placed 159 in entry. I am thrilled! I am getting better with each entry; Plus I think my table shot is pretty good...started at 5.500 from 2 votes! 5 is the best I ever started with. I am sooo motivated! |

working on my ideas for good/bad/personification... additionally, i have ~9.5 hours to figure out what to submit for the jan freestudy. i've had a busy last two weeks, so i'm excited to dig in now that WPL is in season! |

Still @ 5.2963 with 1 vote of 7 and 8! according to my excel tracking. I do have a 1 with no comment...I can't believe that. It's a nice photo :(
My view to vote ratio seems high: 97 with 81 votes, but still just 1 comment. That comment said I should have entered it in the DOF as well, but I didn't think that was allowed.
Trying to get a personification in, but my best prop is outside under a mound of snow and I am not even sure where it is in the garden.
I have DOF to share if you like. I am not sure it's very good, but I thought enough of it to make it my desktop image. LOL |

I'm having a hard time focusing on a single idea, as well. Funny how much I keep thinking about food entries... once they gave that suggestion, it became hard to avoid thinking about it. Maybe we can have an off-line brainstorming session... |

I'm all for that! Just make sure you have my school e-mail in addition to my regular e-mail do I can play during the day. My Gmail account is blocked at school.

I am so so so so SAD! I really liked the editing I had done with my Shallow DOF shot and I loooked at it at school today - WOW how horrible. Anyone voting with a monitor like that one is sure to give it a 1 - it looked like crap! all part of my lousy day today - yay! wahoo
Brian - if it is any consolation, Green Bikini just doesn't do anything for me lol. Don't you know by now that to score some points you need to do some boobie shots???? heh
Hopefully Louellen will chime in here and commiserate with you - I think she has had some good shots with very lousy scores.
It really just comes down to - submit what you like and slowly realize that you are becoming a better photographer! What else can you do besides that?

again, thanks for the kind words. at a 4.3 now. this is looking like my worst so far.
as for the comment on different screens, i 100% agree. my shots look FANTASTIC on my new mac, so-so on my laptop, and horrid at work. hopefully people are judging from work.

Yeah, I'm going to try and get my shots in early enough to check them out on different monitors.
I posted some suggestions for BAD/GOOD on the new site, since I won't be home till late this evening to email. That is a bit more "Private" from other teams, except the "Moderators" may possibly be on teams or dislose information to others. Since I do not want to do a broadcast email from work, I'll use this area today.
