Hi guys!
I have a little question about country challenge. The challenge details says "Take your best shot at depicting life in the country". But the country is means a nation or not?
Thanks

Again the wording is ambiguous (especially for those for whom English is not their first language). I suspect that "rural" is meant by "country".

I believe country would refer to a rural as opposed to urban setting, not nation. But unless one is in international waters or orbiting the earth, the entry would have to be shot in some country, wouldn't it? Just joking. As challenge parameters are a frequent topic of debate, I'll beg your pardon if I am wrong. Any of the site lawyers care to contribute?

In America, yes, that is country life. Not everyone on DPC is in America though! :)
I am looking forward to seeing international entries for this challenge to see what other nations consider "Country Life"

That a very good point. I found an amazing place here is Spain that would be prefect for a *rural* type photo, unfortunatelly it is an hour drive away, I'm at work and later on I am leaving for London ... so I guess I am going to sit this one out.
But we are going to see A LOT OF. flowers, cattle dead and alive, cowboys and windmills :) |

I live in a rural area but not a whole lot of farming happens around here. So don't expect typical silo or haybale shots from me :) I'm just concerned that what I consider rural won't be seen as "country."

Lets not get into country = rural v. country = Southern US w/ cowboys and Dixie Chicks singing country music. I am sure a few threads like that will pop up as soon as the voting starts.

Every country has rural areas, so that shouldn't be a problem?
Ok, except the Vatican perhaps ;o)

At least they didn't say Redneck or Hillbilly, so all of the world should have a place that fills the bill. |

I was just at the NGM website > Montana 'wild horse race' POD.
The funny thing is that photo would not even be in the top 50 at dpchallenge "Country Life" challenge :)
