My husband got me2 Older Canon lenses that won't fit on my Rebel. Does anyone know if there is an adaptor to make them fit? I have tried searching old forum post to find the information (I can't seem to find anything). So I am sorry if this has been asked before.
Both of the lens say "For Canon Mount Including A types"

I wouldn't expect much in the way of features using the older lenses.
Fully manual, stopped down mettering, of course, manual focus. It may not be worth the trouble.
Just a thought. |

If the lenses physically don't fit, ten they are FD mount. There are two types of adapter, one with glass in it, and the other without (just a mechanical adapter). With the latter, you lose infinity focus. With the former, you will lose some image quality, and the adapter acts like a weak teleconverter.
It's usually not at all worth the effort or expense for the adapter, except possibly for long, fast telephotos or, using the glassless adapter, for macro work. |

Great info. Thank you everyone.
The price of the adaptor is more then he paid for one of the lenses. I hate not to use them because he was so proud that he found them for me. He keeps asking why I am not using them. LOL.

Tell him they wont fit.
honesty is the best policy!
Then tell him that to make it up he must go out and get that 70-200 F2.8IS

Make you a deal.
I'll send you a Canon that can use them, and in trade, send that useless one you have now here in trade.
;)
Be honest. It sucks trying to remember what twist of the truth was said.

You guys are right, honesty is the best policy. Plus, if I was to keep this up he might keep buying me the wrong lenses and our anniversary is getting close. :)
If anyone can use them let me know. I am willing to part with them.
The smaller lens reads...Focal MC Auto 1:2.8 f=135mm no. 8231944
The larger...D Jur Automatic 1:3.9 f 75-150mm 58 no 746449
I have never used them so I am not to sure about the quality. The glass looks good.

I think Focal was K-Mart's house brand. Enough said about the quality.
Never heard of D Jur, also a bad sign.
In those days most of the low end lenses were made by Hoya and others. Sigma used to make off brand lenses until they come out with their own brand. Quality went way up then. With those, price was the driver, not the quality.

I know they are not a great quality by the price he paid for them. I am willing to give them away to a good home. I am just hoping someone will get some use out of them.
